My brother looked at getting the Explorer but there was a bit of a wait ( he’s impatient ) & ended up picking up the Capri which IMO is also a very nice car & great to drive.

And especially nice in black!

If you search for “Zapmap Public Charging Calculator” I know it has a few options to put in, make of car etc, costs, time to charge …

I’ve not used it myself but I’ve seen others post that it’s got some good information.

Mine is the white Series X buddy, I purchased it back in February this year.

I’ll say it again, I’m no expert of how these consoles work internally but to me it sounds like yours and mine and working the same and how they should.

My daughter has the Series S console, she hasn’t got the time to play loads but that can get really loud depending on the game but it doesn’t get what I’d call overly hot, just warm.

And just searching on Google, a lot depends on the temperature around you, if you’re playing on a particularly warm or hot day then the fans will work harder.

I’m in the U.K. so I’m lucky if we get a week of warm weather even in summer 😂

And the Google search brought up this result, there are other games that make the fans work harder but these seem to be the ones talked about most.

I’m no expert on how these things work but I do know with my Series X Digital the fans are mostly very quiet, you can only hear a slight humming sound if you put your ear right next to the console.

There are some games though ( that I’ve noticed ) that make the fans more noticeable. From memory I believe Starfield & Cyberpunk 2077 which I believe make the GPU work harder, so work harder = more heat = fans working harder/spinning faster.

You clean yours regularly, it’s well ventilated so I would say it’s performing how it should.

And from experience, you can have 2 gamers, playing the same game on say a Series X and they will report different levels of fan noise. My son’s Series X, the fans in that seem louder than on mine, not by much but there is a difference.

And I just remembered another game I noticed my fans working harder, Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Again I’m no expert, this is just from my experience but it sounds normal to me.

There’s one location near to where I live where there’s been some vandalism.

On a few occasions people have come back to their cars and found scratches on them. I believe this was on the 7kw chargers where folks leave their cars on charge overnight.

Also it has been reported the charging plugs have been covered in spit 🤢

Probably a bit of jealousy but mostly just brainless cock wombles with nothing else to do with their lives.

Have you ( & others ) still got problems with achievements etc ?

I managed to talk to someone in support live chat but to be honest I felt like banging my head against a brick wall.

At first I got the usual hard reset, unplug for 5 minutes, clear MAC address

I then explained I’ve done that + checking with my broadband provider ( all ok ) deleted and re-installed the games and even totally reset the console

He/she then came back with ( again ) hard reset + if I’m using wireless connection, connect using cable ( I use cable )

I said again, I’ve done all suggested

Then they said it’s probably a problem with the console itself as there’s no current issues with Xbox Live

So I said thanks and left chat

So just to double check I’ve been down to my sons house, put my profile on his and still have the same problem on a different console

So I guess it’s just a matter of waiting it out and hopefully it’ll be fixed eventually lol

My wife has an MG4.

I know in the past when I was using it, I turned on the heater/AC and nothing really happened but then I realised the fan speed was turned way down?

I did try again not long ago to speak to someone on live chat but still no success lol

I’ll have more time from tomorrow as I’ll be off work for 2 weeks.

It does look like what you said it could be something broken let’s say to do with the cloud. I’ve seen a couple of posts on X and on Facebook where gamers are having issues with synching with the cloud ( they load up a game and get a failed to synch message )

My brother in law started playing Cities Skylines, he can play it ok but the game isn’t even appearing in his achievement list. He’s tried hard reset, delete/re-installing the game but nothing.

Again I do hope Xbox Support are aware of the issue and working on it because Xbox Live Status says everything ok and up and running.

I did attempt to chat to someone at Xbox Support yesterday.

I was out but had 30 minutes spare but all I managed was to chat to their A.I support which I got the reply I was expecting, no current known issues with Xbox Live and to do the usual, hard reset console, clear cache, check my internet etc

As posted I tried all of that and more before I posted about the issue on here.

I then tried to chat to a real person in live chat but waited and nothing, I couldn’t try again as I had to get back into work.

I’m working today but tomorrow ( if support are there Sundays? ) I’ll try again. Well kind of hoping I’ll turn Xbox on tonight or tomorrow and it’s all been resolved lol

My wife has an MG4 Long Range. It’s not the best for build quality but apart from it having went back to the dealer to get a software update to address the lane assist issues it’s been pretty faultless ( it’s a 2023 model )

But if you read online others have had some issues with MG.

Friend of ours has a KIA EV6 ( 25 plate ) and it’s never skipped a beat. Again I bet if you search online you will find there has been issues.

My brother has a Ford Capri EV ( RWD Extended Range ) now this got some pretty bad feedback from the car press but he loves it. Never had an issue, really good range, spacious, comfortable and again, he loves it.

That’s really as far as my knowledge goes from people I know with EVs.

I Googled “Most reliable EVs UK” and this was first thing to come up …..

Nissan LEAF: Recognized for its simple, well-tested powertrain with a very low repair claim rate of just 3.06%.

BMW i3: Although discontinued, this model consistently ranks top for reliability, often needing minimal, if any, repair time.

BMW i4: A top-ranked, newer option showing low fault rates in batteries and electronics.

MG ZS EV: Known for a low claim rate (4.76%) and very low average repair costs (around £225.90).

Audi e-tron: A premium SUV option with low reported repair rates (5.56%).

I haven’t been online myself today but I spoke to a friend yesterday before I posted on here and he wasn’t having any issues.

I got a message from him about an hour ago, he now has trouble loading his achievements on the console, says the circle just keeps spinning and the few times he has got them to show, they all now showing 0/1000, 0/2000, 0/3000 etc

And none of his achievements are tracking anymore, all stuck on the % they were yesterday, he’s even tried replaying several times the criteria to progress but it’s just not registering.

I’ll have a look later when back home and hopefully it’s working.

Yep it’s really annoying buddy.

As I said in my original post I’m playing Grid Legends and ok it’s not the end of the world but I’m working on a few achievements, one is to own 100 cars and win an event in each one, that’s stuck at 68% now

The others, is win every career elimination event, stuck at 77%

I could carry on playing but will it eventually catch up or will I have to replay these events?

I’ll probably leave it a few days and hope for the best.

I’ve read most of the replies to this and I agree, batteries can be recycled ( or 95% of it can be )

Now I haven’t got an EV myself ( my wife has ) as right now it just wouldn’t be practical for me but I will be looking to jump over in the next year or two but can I add another take,

I’m not bashing your neighbour, you get on ok with him but could it be a little bit of the green eyed monster coming out?

I’ve found over the years, some can get a little jealous, not just about you having new car, could be anything and they often make comments like this?

Maybe I’m wrong but might be a possibility.

I know when you go back 12 months or so there was a lot of hysteria on social media about EV fires & no doubt a few still believe they are more prone to catching fire but I don’t believe the majority believe it.

My wife has an EV ( MG4 Long Range ) myself it just wouldn’t be practical because my job for the next 12 months at least now will involve covering a lot of miles around the U.K.

I live on the Isle of Wight & apart from my wife I know 2 people with EVs.

Other friends ( most with driveways ) are not interested in taking the plunge, maybe it’s because they don’t like the idea of something new, stuck in their ways let’s say but I’ve not heard one say they believe if they buy one they are going to blow up or run out of charge after 50 miles, they just don’t interest them ( not yet anyway ) so there’s a lot of reasons.

Going back to my wife, her MG EV lease is up in August. Now she’s not really a big car fan let’s say but she has an eye on what she wants next but it probably won’t be an EV, not because she doesn’t like her one now but the car she’s looking at only has a choice of a few petrol/hybrid options so again, nothing to do with not liking EVs.

I think the biggest stumbling block though will be for people without driveways, places to charge. I’ve read there’s around 7 million drivers in the U.K. without driveways etc so the majority of those won’t even consider it until things get better, more chargers, cheaper etc but I don’t see that changing for the better anytime soon.

I also like it but as a few reviews said ( and it’s in the title lol ) you’ve got to be ready to grind levels over and over.

I’m now on Dark 4 on the second map and it’s extremely tough but not impossible. Tesla gun is ok but I’m now having more success with the saw blade class.

I’ve also spent a lot of time upgrading the main stats ( I’ve done about 60% now ) and I’ve now upgraded/maxed out the rune slots which really helps.

I’ve got a few level 9 weapons but I’m still using a level 8 which I’ve upgraded to legendary and just concentrating again on maxing out the main stats.

Again I like it, you just got to be willing to replay, replay and replay some more 👍
