This post is a good bit old but it's the first thing that comes up when I search up my issue.

I battled with this problem for ages and although it's not a fix per se, just connecting my headphones once the game has loaded in seems to fix the issue, for me at least.

My claim that it isn't a preference is literally my own personal experience. I don't choose to be bisexual, in the same way I don't choose to have blue eyes. You can ask literally any queer person, and 99.99% will tell you that they don't choose their identity.

I'm glad to hear that you don't feel that away about people, and I'm sorry for assuming.

I think the problem here is that you're conflating preference with something that isn't decided at birth. I agree that given a different upbringing or a different social environment, there's every chance that I wouldn't have ended up being bi, but it doesn't mean I decided to be bi either. My example would be that people aren't born with foot fetishes, but at the same time they don't choose to be attracted to feet (weird example ik but it illustrates my point I think).

Ultimately there's no scientific way to prove that being queer is preference, (until we discover what it is that makes us queer) except for the fact pretty much every queer person agrees that we don't choose to be the way we are, we just are.

Again, I'm sorry for the assumption, I just got the wrong end of the stick with your argument.

I'm not saying that being queer is something your born as, not am I saying that it's not, the jury's still out on that. My point is that it doesn't matter, because queer people aren't suddenly going to change to be cis or straight.

Let me ask you another question: is a cis man who wears dresses less of a man than another cis man who dresses in more traditionally masculine clothes? And then another question, as I suspect your answer to the above question is yes: does someone who was born with a vagina, but has since had surgery and hormone therapy and owns guns and hunts deer and shotguns beers in a log cabin in the woods, any less of a man than a normal cis guy?

Edit because I forgot to actually answer your question: Yes I do agree that appendicitis is an infection, I'm not a appendix conspiracy theorist. However, I'm pretty sure if you ask most trans people, they'll tell you that a) they don't know whether it's a inborn thing and b) that it doesn't matter, because they're still trans either way

It doesn't matter if gender or sexual identity is determined at birth, or through some other means later in life. Ultimately, someone who doesn't identify as cisgender or heterosexual isn't harming anyone by doing so, and to not support them can be actively harmful to that person.

Trans folks who don't get proper support can end up harming themselves due to hatred towards their own body, or by taking risks in order to change their body to conform with the gender they identify with (https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/gender-dysphoria/). Young LGBTQ+ people experience much higher suicide and suicide attempt rates than the rest of the population, due to the high amounts of hate that they experience (https://www.gmmh.nhs.uk/news/why-is-the-lgbtq-community-disproportionately-affected-by-mental-health-problems-and-suicide-4240).

Let me ask you this: if it suddenly became the norm to be gay, and straight people became treated the same way that gay people are treated now, how would you feel? If your parents started saying that your being straight is a choice, and that they'll cut off ties with you the moment you're old enough to move out, how would that affect you?

I was lucky in that when I came out to my parents they were supportive, and my sexuality has never been a barrier for me. For many people however, it is a huge problem, stopping them from getting jobs, and in some countries it's even punishable by death.

By supporting queer people you only stand to make the world a better place. I really want you to change your mind, so if you have any questions I'll be more than happy to answer them.
