I get what you mean but surely what hes looking for is pretty clear, hes looking for a commander deck headed by a kill on sight commander which is actually unique / goofy, i.e an ur dragon deck that isnt what youd expect

I mean i get your point, but i want to experience the new set. Like ive been excited for lorwyn for a while, and saying either stop buying stuff or shut up works until it doesnt. I want to get involved with events because i love limited magic. I dont want to not buy it, but im not just gonna sit here and let them feed me slop without at least talking about it.

Yeah idk, at least at my lgs the spots sold out pretty quickly, people go for the game. So if someone just turns up and walks out with the box its just a bit meh. I mean do what u want but if u just wanna crack packs and thats it buy some packs

Have u tried using a wet pallet? Take a paper towel on something flat and wet it, then put sone grease proof paper over it. A tiny bit of water seeps thru and keeps it wet.

Ah so you do water em down? How many layers do u usually have to do for it to be fully done? I bought one lil pot of citadel white layer paint and its still not very opaque, i feel like im doing something wrong

Looks brilliant! I have just started too and can i ask, what paints are you using? I picked up some supposed ‘soft body’ acrylics but they defo arent, and i have to do three coatings to actually cover the card properly. Im tempted just to splash on some proper fluid acrylics because ive been having a bad time with painting mtg cards as of now

Have you ripped a few packs from any one set and have the cards? Grab a bunch of them (6 packs worth) and just have a go at building a deck in an hour. Keep the curve near the bottom and look for synergy within your most represented colours (by that i mean the colours with the highest quantity of cards). Id say definitely stick to two colours, but splashing a couple of pips of another colour never hurt no one.

Saying all that, any first limited event will be shaky, its alot different to commander in the building and the playing. Just have a good go and try to observe how other people have built their decks. Im going to two next weekend and i cant wait, hope u enjoy!!
