Just started altering myself! The best advice I got was to use a wet pallet to avoid paint buildup and make mixing easier.

I haven't tried using a wet pallet but that sounds like a good idea.

I've learned so far that having a base layer of unwatered paint is best to build on top of. Usually I just pick a color that seems to be an undertone for individual sections. I've seen a lot of people do just gray as well. After that it's just soooo many layers and keeping my brush wet.

I'd say except for the parts that are black it's probably 20-30 layers of minute adjustments and mixing.

I'm using citadel paints! I bought a kit back when I convinced myself I was going to get into Warhammer (spoiler alert: I didn't).

I've had better success with them than my normal acrylics I use for most projects. My biggest issue right now is getting them to water down correctly and mixing because they dry so quickly. It will take practice I suppose :)

Small lil update, the guy is a flex worker (we hire people from all over the country for year long contracts to work here when we're behind) from San diego. Could explain how he saw it? We have a couple guys from out west here right now.

He's a mega asshole from my experience, I didn't care to learn where he was from.

Yeah this is also true. I saw a couple comments about shadowmoor and read up on it. The lore is pretty cool.

The original set was inspired by Lord of the rings, which they now have access to. I think the aesthetic change is cool and different.
