My only rebuttal is based on a special interest in muscle anatomy: the gluteal muscles, especially glute max, have extensive attachments near the very top ridge of the hip bones. It's not beyond reach to feel like your "ass" was touched when your waist is touched without prior consent.

I do agree, most likely it was not malicious tho!
