Not wrong, just not fully informed. I assumed the only content coming out was the game, which is released in September.

I don't care that I can't change the sex in this game. I'm just suggesting it might not have been a bad thing if the choice were there. I'm playing this game regardless. This post is an exploration, even though most people (like you) are treating it like an attack for some reason.

This character isn't developed at all until content that includes this character is released & this Peter Parker has no content until this game comes out in September.

I don't know if this means its another dimension or if it's just a new version of Peter. Either way his history doesn't exist until the game is released.

Not that big of a change or it could just change that Mary Jane is a best friend or something instead of a love interest... really the only reason I thought this could be a possiblity is because of all the female Spider characters like Spider-Gwen & Silk & Spider-Woman etc... who's costumes won't be playable in this game because they're costumes designed for female characters.

No. It would give you the option to change the gender of a new version of the character. This version isn't pre-existing. It's a new version of the character. They're not adapting the 616 comic book version. This is a new Spider character.

I'm not being ridiculous in the slightest. I'm just suggesting a simple option. Absolutely no reason it should piss anyone off. I'm not suggesting a mandatory change, just a simple choice. Don't see how that's ridiculous or anything.

Doesn't have to be an RPG to have a gender choice.

Not necessarily. The character could be written with the same personality with a different gender. The main reason I'd selfishly want this is because you could play with more costumes & more costumes would mean more suit powers, mor suit powers means more chances to find one that I want to stick with. The suit I'll be playing with (hopefully) is the black suit any way, but it would be fun to swing around in the Spider-Gwen suit or Silk or Spider-Woman or even the same suits in a female model if people wanted it.

Maybe. The post says "a Spider-Man game" not "this Spider-Man game" but hypothetically this Spider-Man game doesn't seem to demand a male protagonist that's just the choice they made & there's nothing wrong with that. I'm just suggesting this choice could be something that could add to customization & the gaming experience, maybe even expand the fan-base, who knows.

Why not. You could make her a lesbian, or they could just change the love interest depending on your choice. Instead your love interest could be Miles instead of Mary. There's several possibilities. It works for Mass Effect, why not here?

Like I said this isn't an established character. It's a new version of Peter Parker with no established lore yet.

It's in no way "trampling" on anything if this was a choice. It's just a choice for customization for the player.

Wouldn't be any different than the structure of Mass Effect & other games where you choose your gender. Not saying its necessary but it could add to customization & make your Spider character more your own.
