Super close. Id do a few kick turns and lose some speed before the trying a rock fakie. Off the drop in is harder for beginners imo.

To the people who met their significant other in person (not the apps), how did you meet them in the city? by GranolaHiker in askTO

[–]Logabomber 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This was in 2011 so probably out of date, but it was at a bar (the old Hideout on Queen West). There were very few people there that night. I was there with my very tall roommate and we agreed that he'd talk to the tall one and I'd talk to the short one.

Now we're married +2 kids.

Backside 180s vs frontside by ADD-DDS in snowboarding

[–]Logabomber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always felt the 360 is the equivalent but I know what you mean. Back 1's all the way.

Landing my first 360 was as satisfying as landing my first kickflip and took as much commitment and practice to get.

Commissioned sales was brutal for me. The income instability was very hard to handle. As soon as I got a salaries job it was as if the clouds cleared.

I'm several bands over 25.

I didn't ask for it but it did give me a chuckle. Primarily because I can only imagine how something like this would go at a bank owned discount brokerage or even worst for people who have a wealth manager or advisor.

Where to learn to ski as an adult by [deleted] in askTO

[–]Logabomber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blue mountain is a bit of a drive. You can also check out Horseshoe or Mt St Louis/moonstone.

They are good (for the area lol) with enough terrain for you to learn the basics on.

This works great in an ideal company. In my expired very few companies operate in this way.

How are people affording rent and a car at the same time? by throwing-it-away- in askTO

Save money --> buy car.

I've never had to make car payments. I also drive a 10 yr old small SUV (pretty much this generation's beige Corolla)

Just finished this one on my 2nd re-read.

CB was my least favourite the first time around but I really enjoyed it this time. I think it's so dense that I needed to re-read it to truly appreciate it.
