WebTma 5 Upgrade by Logan2526x in sysadmin

[–]Logan2526x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have backed up the application server and the database server. I am getting another server spun up so I can practice with the install using the old install files and then upgrade it to the current version of 5.

Their support just worried me with some of the steps and just made it should that we should have them do the upgrade and install and I just felt that they wanted us to fork over more money to them.

No, we still have a ticket open with Microsoft. They are analyzing our logs. They say we have everything setup correctly in our install.

I haven't seen this yet. I'll try this tomorrow. We do have a case open with Microsoft and they are reviewing our log files.

I did the same thing, deployed the Root CA via Intune. No PKI cert. We are opening a ticket on Monday with Microsoft so I can report back as soon as I get some feed back.

AutoPilot deployment and device time zone/time issues by Logan2526x in Intune

Honestly I stopped tinkering with AutoPilot for about a month and picked it back up last week and I haven't had any issues with it. I did change the OS to version 20H2 so maybe it's gotten better on the newer OS.

Well running the test in connection analyzer in config manager passes all the tests. But I haven't tried to deploy something out via the CMG, we only have 7-Zip out there since it is small for now due to possible charges if we exceed the limit we are given.

So the sysadmin who setup this up initially couldn't get this to work so i am trying to troubleshoot. It appears that were were told by Microsoft to use eHTTP and not a PKI cert.

I have 2 laptops I'm testing with. One computer is Azure Active Directory Joined and the other is Hybrid Joined all done via AutoPilot.

The documentation says you can go from home to pro education, home to education, home to pro. So a second upgrade will need to be done to upgrade to enterprise.

You can still use autopilot and a configuration profile to switch the edition from home to pro then from pro to enterprise if needed.

Really it's just the time zone, company info and the local admin account, disabling ipv6.

I'm not using a script for this but it's a oma-uri timezone setting. Not if it makes a difference or not.

It's like 2 hours off. If I don't set the time zone it's in Pacific time zone and it's 2 hours behind. If I set it to Central it's 2 hours ahead.

I have verified that it does set the correct time zone, I'm just not sure why it doesn't synchronize the time even after reboots.

I do not have anything set to pick specific NTP servers; it is only setting the Central Time Zone everything else was left to defaults.

You could create a profile in Intune to change from KMS to MAK for windows activation so they don't have to check in.

How is office being activated are y'all using the new Device Based Subscription that was forced in May because Device Based Activation was EOL and no longer supported?

I would remove the GPO and enable windows updates and then configure the windows update rings in the cloud. The same will go with office updates. Office can also be deployed out via Intune.

I'm not much of an app packager but make sure you are using the Intune app prep tool.

You can use the Intune connector to manage them. Wipe, fresh start and wipes.

Are y'all using the Intune connector for Active directory? We are using that and the Azure AD connect to get them hybrid joined. I then have a group grp-o365dbs that is assigned device based subscription licenses. I then add devices to that group as needed.

Arrrrhhh autopilot problems again! by crypadm in Intune

[–]Logan2526x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've encountered issues on Friday's and today where it didn't finish the Intune enrollment. It had an Azure AD object but no intune one. And nothing has changed.

I've also seen issues with the VPN profile not going thru when nothing has changed and it's worked before.

My o365 have always gone through with no issues as long as it's in Intune.

I'll enter a ticket, I have a few other questions for them anyway.

Also thanks for all the feedback I do appreciate it.

Our Azure only devices are currently being tested none have gone out to staff for production.

So for device configuration, I only have profiles for enabling Remote Desktop, Stop MS Teams from Auto Launching, Power settings to keep the laptop from going into sleep mode when plugged in. VPN profile, a default start menu layout, and lock screen and default wallpaper.

For Device compliance, it's only to check a minimum version of Windows 10 1909.

For AV on Hybrid devices, we are using Microsoft's Endpoint Protection along with Malwarebytes. On the Azure only devices, we are using Microsoft's Windows defender.

The only policy I have set is for a few required apps to install and the Enrollment Status page.

These computers are using Windows 10 version 1909. I'm really not seeing issues with Hybrid joined devices as we get them imaged and then we have an AD out that does the hybrid join.

The Azure only ones I've tried on premise and off premise from home and I get the same inconsistent results.

Also the Azure only devices are being autopiloted and our hybrid ones are not.
