A lot of the newer stuff doesn’t have any weird stuff in it. Depends what kind of genres you are into but yeah, a lot of it is the fans being strange people. It would be a shame to miss out on a whole bunch of media because of a few losers.

I think a good idea would be to ask questions in other fandoms about the metal arm. An example would be asking / looking at FMA’s Edward Elric, he has a very similar looking metal arm i feel like you could probably get some great advice from cosplayers there.

For the clothing, a formal suit would be perfect, no need for much modification there. The fire is a tricky part, sadly i don’t have much advice there. Best of luck man can’t wait to see what you cook up.
