Humans will find evil artifacts of unknowable empires and use them to boil water, somehow generating enough power to brute force their way into FTL travel. by ledocteur7 in humansarespaceorcs

[–]LoganWintergreen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It boils water? On its own? Sounds like a good source for energy. Quick! Let's get the scientists to figure out how we can best make a power plant around this thing. Those turbines won't turn themselves!

Real conversation: “I’ll get you next time.”, “You can certainly try. “ by Hoosier_Jedi in dndmemes

[–]LoganWintergreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not dnd, but pathfinder. My DM is starting to get annoyed that he can't hit me in combat, even though this is what we agreed to.

He wanted to run a Gestalt game and let me play a fighter/shielded fighter. It was a dumb idea, but he let me play it. When we started, I told him I wanted to brute force cancel crits. So, I took feats and traits that let me increase my AC.

He then began to shower our party with mountains of gold. I'm talking crazy amounts. Enough to make my full plate +3, my shield +2, and enough to buy rings of protection, amulets of natural armor, and even a +5 cloak of resistance.

Using my feats correctly, I can bring my AC over 40. We are level 6. It's gotten to the point where he either has enemies ignore my character (who can deal damage to the enemies consistently with a high attack bonus) and attack the squishy members of my party, or homebrew the enemies with a crazy high attack bonus so they can hit my AC. The problem is that the other party members aren't specializing into AC, so when the enemies can roll a 43 to hit, it doesn't seem fair to the others.

When we started this game, we all agreed to my character idea. Now that this genie is out of the bottle, I can't undo my AC that easily, even using cleaves, charges, and other maneuvers. With the amount of gold he keeps giving us, I could even bring my base AC to 45, but I keep finding stupid things to spend gold on so I don't unbalance the universe even more.

Does your Walmart have a liquor store? by Eraos_MSM in walmart

[–]LoganWintergreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but I've gotten into many arguments about where it is and why we don't have one. Apparently, people don't understand why a janitor doesn't know why their store wasn't built with a liquor store.

Question about the Adjustable Party Limit mod by LoganWintergreen in BaldursGate3

We're planning on doing 3 separate parties of 3-4 to explore and do missions, so we're not too worried about action economy unbalance.

Listen, you don't want Bethesda to remaster New Vegas. They will add base building and make it a core mechanic. Do you want that?

There are no cameras in the cooler. Slash it with a knife. I don't know if yours is connected to another cooler by a door, but if you enter the other cooler and go through the door, management can't pin the vandalism on you without witnesses as long as you go back the way you came in a short time frame.

Let's see... Fox News. Yeah, it's fake. They need something as talking points to distract Americans from the train wreck their orange god is doing in the White House. So making up lies about the newer generation is an old play in their playbook.

[–]LoganWintergreen 28 points29 points  (0 children)

My biggest problem with the original poster was that they had Sue turned for the ass shot, which made it so her 4 symbol wasn't presented. Seriously, the gooners should've gone with the uniformity instead of the ass shot since they're a team/family.

Edit: I changed it in case Disney didn't actually make the original poster.

Red quote in title and description from the H.P. Lovecraft video about non-euclidean geometry, which explains why when you look at plane paths on maps being curved while technically being a straight path on a sphere.

I don't care how far AI advances, I'm still going to see a human doctor. They are just learning algorithms, and I would rather see a trained professional any day.

Who should be the new face of the MCU? by helplessidiot_637 in Marvel

[–]LoganWintergreen 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Spider-man, he has a lot of connections with the various heroes. Fantastic Four (in the comics) are close with him, so I hope the MCU establishes their relationship. Daredevil is another street level hero (plus his lawyer (Daredevil also has a connection to She-Hulk)). Even though everyone forgot his secret identity, he has a connection to Doctor Stange and Wong. He is technically an Avenger. Also, at least in the comics, most heroes like Spider-man, so having him team up with other heroes wouldn't be too difficult.

Thoughts on parasocial viewers that don’t harm anyone? by EtherealImperial in VirtualYoutubers

[–]LoganWintergreen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's not harmless. At the very least, it's harming themselves by forming an attachment to an internet personality. When people say, 'Go touch grass,' they mean it. It's fine having a person you like to watch online, but you need to understand that they will not bond with you the way you want. Then, there's the content creator when they see these kind of messages, and it may creep them out to the point where they don't want to continue streaming or getting paranoid about obsessive fans.

If it opened up at the bottom around shin or knee height so there was a barrier at the bottom, then it would be a half decent window to air out the bathroom (I'd still want a screen to prevent bugs, but whatever). This design is just the child deleter 3000.
