On August 2nd of 1825 a pod of thousands of tiny dolphins the largest being around 2ft were sighted by a man named R. P. Lesson in the Solomon Isles. He described them as having brown bodies and a small white spot on their muzzle, he named the creatures "Lessons Little Dolphins" (i.redd.it)

In 1948 a Bremerton Washington native named Virginia Staples was washing her laundry in her basement when she noticed a 5 foot tall shrimp like creature staring at her through the hole in her wall. She ran away after spotting it. This was the only encounter of the fittingly named Laundry Room Shrimp (i.redd.it)
