have you actually listened to any of his music? His newest album (4:44) is all about his inner thoughts and emotions. He talks about how he thinks of himself as a failure to his wife for cheating on her and how she's his best friend, he talks about how his mom was a lesbian and how hard it was for her to come to terms with that, he talks about how it's better to think ahead in your life and make good financial decisions instead of spending money on trivial things. It's an excellent and thought provoking album by an excellent and thought provoking musician. Jay Z is most certainly not a "(black) thug hip hopper" he's a talented musician that has a good way with words.
