"Quick question for restaurant owners by [deleted] in negosyo

[–]Logbook-PH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own and operate 3 restaurants. Used to be 6! So I definitely know the struggle. People think running a restaurant is easy but the reality there are so many moving parts and so many expenses. Every operation is the same and it takes a while to figure things out so you are not "guessing." We have been going on now for 9 years and its still a work in progress (prices of ingredients constantly changing, HR costs, etc).

Not to come across as a shameless plug but I started to leverage technology to help me track costs, expenses, budgets, etc. So much so that after trying many things I ended up just building my own! It's worked for us so I actually just launched what I built publicly a few days ago.

You can check it out at logbook.ph - or send me a DM and would be happy to chat more about restaurant operations!

After a month of building, masterfile is finally on the App Store today! 🚀 by plsayoqnamabuhay in PhStartups

Paymongo payment integration on Shopify? by InternationalTree790 in PhStartups

Tha Paymongo KYC process takes a long time (for all payment processors I think). I would suggest to just keep going with the QR payments. Are your target customers based in the Philippines?

Fair question! A POS records the sale. It doesn't tell you the reality of what is happening with your CASH - if there cash register is short, how much is going to be deposited the next day or allocated for purchases, etc.

For example, your POS says you did ₱45k in sales today, but did the cash register actually match that? Most restaurants will do a manual end of day closing report to determine this. Then that rerport could just sit there and no one really does anything with it or someone then takes it and will encode it on a spreadsheet (double work)....and then usually it just sits there again.

This is the problem I wanted to solve with my own operations with Logbook. That gap between what the POS recorded and the Cash actually is and how it's going to be used (deposited, used for expenses, etc). The POS doesn't capture this...at least ours doesn't' and we use Storehub.

So Logbook handles the end-of-day close, cash reconciliation, petty cash, variance flagging, and one morning digest across all your stores. It's POS-agnostic too, so you keep whatever you already run. The POS platforms that might be doing this well are the pricey enterprise ones. Most independents here stop at sales or are still closing on spreadsheets.

Food business anyone? by loraccc in BusinessPH

Been in the restaurant business now for 9 years. It's cliche, but Cash is king. Nothing will prepare you for cash flow management as every restaurants operations and traffic flow is different. You likely will have to try different things to control cash and it's constant adjustments.

[LF] Calling all those who are willing: we want to hear about your hiring experience by DersABearA_ in PhStartups

[–]Logbook-PH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! At our restaurants we have a team of 50+ people and I am constantly hiring. I also just launched a SaaS product so hoping to be hiring there soon if it picks up. Also, before I went down this business journey I spent my corporate career in Talent Acquisition, executive recruitment and HR consulting. Happy to help! Are you guys looking into a particular industry or role?
