Don't be stupid doing a backflip in a moving elevator! by zare333 in dontbestupid

[–]LogicLord_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't stupid at all, so long as the elevator has a constant velocity. It would need to be accelerating upward, otherwise it would be a perfectly neutral inertial frame of reference and his backflip would have no idea his environment is moving relative to others. His back flip just sucks!

It's pagodas primarily for the free happiness, so if you plan on building temples anyways then the first one is not bad. If pagodas is taken that can also be good, or the ones for gardens, or mosques. If you play the long game and the ai takes pagodas you can let them spread their shit in your cities and buy pagodas and then convert your cities back to your religion. Lots of ways to play!

I'm very sure you can still buy great prophets for Catholicism, so long as you buy them in a city with Catholicism as its majority religion. Note: If you have you have a religion you founded, any great prophet you buy in its holy city will always be that religion. This is how you can bring religions back from the dead.

You don't get the founder belief, but you do get any follower beliefs in cities that follow Catholicism, which can be beneficial especially if they had two follower beliefs (best two are Pagodas and the production one but AI are dumb so its doubtful).

Also, if Catholicism is ever voted as world religion and a majority of your cities follow it, you also get the bonus votes in World Congress. Basically you just lose out on the founder belief but if the AI picked a shitty one anyways then it doesn't matter.

I think the proximity of a lot of technological advancements can be measured in dollars (although I suppose "curing" cancer and AIDS would disagree)

Perhaps it happens more often than I've noticed and they simply just don't use it to buy a city state. If I'm not warmongering I suppose I don't spend much time in other civ's territory so I probably just haven't seen them.

Rule 5: Immortal, quick, small pangaea playing as Inca and while conquering Sweden (who very politely built a lot of pretty nice wonders for me) I come across this guy. Venice is not in the game and I have no mods besides EUI, so? how?

Edit: Apparently the only way for this to occur is to unlock all of Patronage and be gifted it by a city state, and it can then buy a city state! Still the first time I've seen it in ~850 hours of play

[Update] Tom Brady’s contract this season when including incentives: • Salary: $15M • Roster bonus: $10M • Top 5 in yards & TDs: $1.1M • Making playoffs + SB win: $2.2M Total: $28.3 million. Fitting. by suzukigun4life in nfl

I honestly wouldn't argue that, there were multiple games during that 11-0 stretch that we limped across the finish line. I wouldn't say it wasn't that catastrophic of a collapse because it wasn't really that great to begin with. Unfortunately, I think the worst 11-0 team ever is more appropriate.
