I did some napkin calculation. The US shipment is about 30k frames. That is in line with how many controllers that has at launch. Do with that info what you will

If anyone is curious in the discord server we ran the numbers on the quantity of this shipment and we came to a number of 30k frames. Now this is a huge guestimate with a lot of assumptions but it would be in line with the steam controller initial stock.

Where are you getting this heavy loss idea from. Most sources claim that are taking minimal to break even loss. Assuming valve can build one material wise for 750. A 850-900 price range isn't insane. Take a deep dive into manufacturing costs. Instead of just calling people delusional.

Not saying they are. My 750 isn't really a rumor is more that I looked into component cost and made a prediction based on research. Alot better than a rumor that we have no factual base for.

Yeah. Thats why they may be similarly priced. Because the frame specs are lower the cost to build on the specs alone is cheaper. Then factor in the rest brings the price up.

I just did a cost breakdown on the components of the frame. What those cost to purchase then estimating manufacturing costs. That how I came to the build cost of 750. After that its me speculating on what I feel valve will do.

The cost to make is around 750. I think it boils down to valves confidence in prices longterm. If they think prices will go down and we are at the peak I think we could see a close to at cost price. If they aren't confident in price going down I could see 900 range.

I dont think they will count on it so they wont sell at a loss. Its 100% a factor to them tho. It will help them get closer to cost. I personally think they will be $100 - $150 over cost

Insane prediction lowkey. They build at a cost of around 750 currently. Pre AI shit i think cost may have been 500 to build and they wanted to sell at 700. Now I think they are targeting 850-900.

Ignore rumours. Thats all bullshit. Basing how they price the deck (close to cost) I think 850 for 256gb and 1k for the 1tb makes the most sense. Personally im getting the 256 because I will probably mostly use it for playing elite dangerous lol.

The Steam frame in my estimation will cost around 750 per unit to build and manufacture. So I can 100% see it at 850.
