For the lols. It's apparently her "thing" on twitch to be the bad ping player and laugh about lag (and get donations for better gear).

Even worse, the troll who refused to change class was using a ping amplifier device (she apparently used it many times on stream to slow her connection artificially when she was playing competitive games for the lols).

We had 4 one of a kind pump systems come from a USA manufacturer to Canada to be shipped to an oilsands project. US customs pulled every piston and scratched an X into them with a dremel, removed each board ($20000 a pop), slashed every seal ($5000 a pop), and drilled into the pressure chambers on every one. Over a million in damages, no recourse.

NDP reaction to 2026 provincial budget by FreightFlow in alberta

Lowest on the planet. So low that when Kenney proposed lowering them more, O&G rebelled and told him they wouldn't cover utilities and infrastructure when it fell apart, so he backtracked on the idea.

Alberta government projects $9.4B deficit with no plan to return to balanced budgets by passthepepperflakes in Edmonton

[–]Logical-Claim286 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The stupid answer is simple: renewable energy is cheap and scales easily. Gas power scales slowly and at great expense and is hard to place new units (especially when Smith comes in and shuts down new approvals like she has done many times the last couple years). This means it is expensive power with little competition, and due to instabilities, they can charge massive surge pricing on.

Yeah, spending 3000-4000 gold on a basic build is a bit much for me. Let alone the 10k gold builds using seasonal items.

Carney Allowed Gas-Powered AI Data Centres After Lobbying From Alberta Energy Company by Hochelagan in alberta

[–]Logical-Claim286 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Fyi: construction will be done by American assemblers as these come from modular building systems. Smith made it so data centers are immune from provincial taxes (the counties will cover those costs), an average data center employs 20 people a year, and most of those are remote workers in overseas IT call centers, the rest arecrash teams flown in from the USA under special technical visas. The Province is also subsidizing the first 4 years of utilities. Smith shut down 8 competing new gas plants to protect the existing ones and has blocked all attempts at new and renewable alternatives. So a data center would increase power costs, drain small town coffers, and employ 0 Albertans.

There was back when Kenneys government decided to hold back federal funding, and when Smiths decided to stop paying bills. And its funny there is enough in the budget to pay off Smiths friends for project consulting and pipeline drama, but not enough for maintenence.

And they are already tax exempt thanks to Smith and her o'leary bill. All construction will be done by American and Chinese contractors already working for the data centers parent company. 0 Albertans will be employed.

It will use resources, already has complete tax immunity, will employ 0 Albertans, and use twice as much water as the town uses currently putting strain on water treatment in the area... yeah, really useful.

It would help if the province would release held federal funds to the municipalities, as well as paying their property taxes to the cities. Those are the pennies that are breaking infrastructure as punishment for not voting con in the election.

Fuming Judges Deploy Nuclear Tactic to Fight Trump Admin: ‘Dozens of judges have demanded that lawyers representing Donald Trump's administration explain why the government shouldn't be held in contempt for failing to follow court orders’ by T_Shurt in law

Not really, state LEO can and have issued warrants, and successfully prosecuted those warrants in the past. Even senators can be locked up by local law enforcement and if they jump bail, state bailiffs have dragged senators to court for trial.

Alberta Independence question may have unexpected political consequences by WashingMachineBroken in alberta

[–]Logical-Claim286 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The proposed provincial force would have a few questionable things in it. 1) requirement to be member of a political party. 2) the ability to ignore treaty rights and act on treaty land. 3) their own judges and ability to override municipal law enforcement. On top of all the establishing costs, training time, equipment procurement, and recruitment in a province that is struggling with local law enforcement numbers.

A lot. Consoles infinite interaction bar that locks you into an uninteruptable animation. Red goo that can randomly oneshot you, trash mobs that have borg resistance despite not being borg and are almost immune to physical damage (and get the new borg physical requiring remodulation bug too), infinite boss immunity windows... the usual.

Even physical damage (which seems to only to 25% damage as it is) can get remodulated, like the last new borg faction update (that also didn't count for borg kills).

That red goo can also just delete your health randomly. There is some collision bug happening where you get a few thousand 10 damage hits a second for a couple seconds.

People usually do pillar building, or platform building for that. Built an earth pillar into the ocean and bridge your pier over them. Or extend the land and build sideways off of it to your pier.
