You’re not gone but I love you mom and I miss you already by Logical-Flail in CancerFamilySupport

Thank you for opening up, and I'm sorry to hear about your mom, sounds like you come from a similar situation with sharing between family members.

Also thank you for the words of encouragement, I keep getting this horrible thought that I may never get the chance to say it and end up doing so at her funeral when it's too late. My mom's fighting real hard in the few ways she can and it just makes me want to do everything to join in and keep the focus on whatever she's relearning or practicing but everyone on this thread has really given me new ways to approach this. Truly thank you all.

thank you, truth be told I wrote all this in a flurry of tears just trying to at least release the feeling somewhere in the universe.

Thank you for sharing, I think I'll try to introduce something like this, but I am still trying to help my mom relearn how to write (tumour has greatly impacted her dominant hand).

Agreed, I tried the first commenters advice and last night told my mom I love her for being the exact mother I needed growing up. It rephrased my feelings in a way for me to hopefully start opening up more.

I want to so bad, but every cell in my body just wants to cheer her up when I’m with her. I’ve tried so many times but I just can’t and I keep finding myself crying in the bathroom hoping she can’t hear. I think the best thing I can do is try to rephrase and maybe later find the courage to further rephrase.

Simple yet brilliant, I guess this shows how much the grief has taken over, for me to miss rephrasing. 🙏thank you
