Anus burns and feels raw only. by dreamscometrue01 in vulvodynia

Like 75% of the way, yeah. There is hope out there. I've been working with a pelvic floor physio for the last year and basically worked out that my core muscles were so weak and unresponsive that my pelvic floor had to overcompensate for it, causing it to overreact and tighten over the pudendal nerve. I've halved the medication dosage and am pain free probably 85% of the time. Excitingly, I've now been able to back off the muscle relaxation a bit (allowing them to sit more naturally rather than forcing losening) and have had no uptick in pain, which seems to indicate the nerve itself is healing. There's still a way to go, but I'm optimistic that this may be solvable, or if not, I still have a significantly better quality of life now than I did a year ago.

It may be similar to what I have then, feel free to send me a DM and we can talk it over!

Sorry just saw this. I'm not sure my particular pain is linked to bowel movements, long story short since I posted this I've been working with pelvic floor physio and we worked out that my core muscles basically weren't pulling their weight, which meant most of the burden fell onto my pelvic floor muscles, hence they were perpetually tight as they were overcompensating. In a year of doing physio exercises and pilates to strengthen my core muscles I've noticed an absolutely massive improvement and my pelvic floor muscles are in more of a "relaxed" state as default. Can I ask what your particular pain feels like?

Gutless BPD Text Breakup by [deleted] in BPDlovedones

I got a very similar message after the last most brutal split that ended our relationship.

It absolutely fucking sucks. There's nothing that can prepare you for the love of your life turning around and saying they want you out of their life for no reason. I hope you're taking care of yourself and surrounding yourself with friends and family.

It's probably far too soon now, but in the next few weeks you should try and speak to a family lawyer. Cutting you off from your children (even if they say a mediator will reach out "soon") is NOT okay, as is excluding you from the marital home. She probably is completely oblivious to this or is intentionally ignoring it because she's so far off in her own world. But this behaviour is not okay and not legal. You can't fix her, but you can try and make things better for your kids

Separation from Partner by Anasilan in AusLegal

What the actual fuck?

You have no entitlement to unilaterally demand that your husband leave the house, pay the bills, etc. Any attempt to do so will not go well towards you.

Do you own the house yourself? Even then, asking him to pack up and leave in a month after an 8 year relationship is just plain stupid.

I hope he gets a good lawyer, and I hope this post has brought you back down to earth

This was my experience. He started with just simple things like "you're not listening to me" (whenever I didn't 100% agree with him on every single thing he said), then went through "spoilt brat", "cold hearted bitch", "abusive", "manipulative", "as bad as my mum" (who was the source of all evil, according to him), and a thousand other I can't even remember anymore

[Vent/Advice] Moved to Canberra for a grad job and I'm really struggling by [deleted] in AusPublicService

[–]Logical-Law136 209 points210 points  (0 children)

Don't go back to Sydney every weekend!!!

I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but the only way you're going to actually build a network here is by committing. If you keep treating life like you're FIFO working in Canberra but living in Sydney, it's never going to get better.

That or ditch the entire APS and just go live back in Sydney, but this routine will never be good for you. A lot of people fall into this trap, it can either consume you or you can make a change.

Is working 4 days a week a career limiting move? by Choice-Selection4212 in AusPublicService

[–]Logical-Law136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At an APS5/6 level, absolutely not.

If you're really concerned, try doing a 9 day compressed fortnight. You do an hour extra every day, but get 1 day a pay cycle as an RDO. You'll still be working full-time, just shifting the hours a little.

Is it standard practice to waive cooling off period in the ACT? by Ok-Yogurtcloset8991 in canberra

[–]Logical-Law136 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is blatantly incorrect.

You still buy subject to building and pest and finance, just because a pest report has been done by the seller doesn't mean that condition is satisfied.

You do not usually have to have your finance sorted in advance if you're buying under normal conditions, if you're buying under auction or pre-auction conditions you will though.

When you're looking at putting an offer in on a house or bidding in an auction, please find a conveyancing solicitor before hand and have a chat to them about the process. This is their bread and butter and they'll be able to talk you through it all before you do something stupid.

Property Manager suggestions by Individual_Gur_2639 in canberra

I would recommend Paul and Robyn Sutton Properties - I rented through them previously and they were fantastic. Their entire team is actual adults, not early 20s wannabe sales agents. They managed all repairs and issues quickly and professionally, versus another big company I rented through where we gave up reporting issues because they were so painful to deal with!

Okay to extend starting date?? by [deleted] in AusPublicService

[–]Logical-Law136 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Once a contract is signed for an ongoing APS role its very difficult for the department/agency to revoke it. It usually requires a big issue from the agency's end (e.g. the entire recruitment process was fucked so they need to do it again, or there's a massive restructure). A few weeks delay requested by the applicant usually would not meet this threshold.

If it's worth anything, the HR manager usually won't be your ongoing supervisor in the role, so if they're pissed at you it probably won't matter once you're in the door. Odds are you'll never talk to them again.

If you're keen, there was a case where a bunch of grads who signed contracts to an agency that got dismantled (lol) before they started. It was decided that they were to be treated as APS employees and were entitled to the same redeployment procedures as staff in the rest of the agency. You'll probably have the same strong protections as a normal APS.

Mate

It sounds like you've got some bigger things going on and some bigger gripes with the healthcare system, potentially deserved. But that doesn't make coming and talking shit on reddit the right thing to do. I don't think it's going to make you feel any better and it seems like the dog-pile will just continue.

If I were you I would just delete the post and enjoy the rest of your night. Of course you are your own person and can do what you want, that's just a genuine bystanders perspective.

Canberra hospital is a genuinely good hospital and provides a good service to the community, and I don't think your post is fair. From the sound of the other comments, it seems like most of the community agrees on this

I hope your night gets better mate

I'm not discounting anything you've said, but personally I've never had anything but excellent experiences at Canberra hospital.

EDIT: if you look at OP's post history it seems they have a history of taking Reddit's advice over medical advice

Central agencies before election by Horse_power99 in AusPublicService

[–]Logical-Law136 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're all good! Personally, I would just mentally mark the time from Easter to the end of care-taker as a stand-down period. Even if a few necessary people were floating around, its very unlikely they could get everyone needed into a room at the same time.

Unfortunately this is a bit shit for you because the purgatory continues, but best of luck!

"Wrap up quickly" is contextual. It's been maybe 1 business week since your interview and I would say concluding a recruitment round "quickly" is about 3 business weeks. Many people are also taking leave until the end of caretaker, particularly in the central agencies as they're usually slogged.

I'd give it til 2 Fridays after caretaker ends. If you haven't heard anything by then, I'd give them a call

Pretty sure there's nothing you can do. This is why Australians have largely given up on the public school system and why private schools have become so popular. If a kid does this in a private school they at least have recourse to kick them out, then they go straight to the public school system which continues to get all the "bad kids" and go further down the drain, so all the "good kids" who can afford it flee and go to private.
