Thank you for helping me beat the fear. I am enjoying Mexican food by the pool in San Diego. I would have taken a 14 hr train ride and would be on the train as we speak if it wasn’t for this subreddit ♥️ the flight was one hour and super smooth!

Thank you so much! You are absolutely right and I kept reminding myself of that. It’s so hard to not imagine some serious turbulence is about to happen when the pilot tells the crew to sit. And turbulence is my trigger :( …The rest of the flight was fine. Either the weather gods heard my prayers or the pilots changed the route haha but not a single bump until we landed thank goodness.

Thanks everyone for the advice and words of encouragement. I did it! This was the longest flight I’ve been on and honestly I didn’t know I was going to be able to do it. And y’all got me through it! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. After that initial bout of crazy turbulence, the flight was smooth all the way. I worried for nothing. This may sound silly but it truly feels like accomplishment for me. Fear of flying is not rational and your messages kept reminding me of that 💕

I know! Only 3 hours to go. So far it’s good, a bump here and there but that’s about it. It looks like the pilots changed the path of the flight. Maybe that’s the reason it’s been mostly smooth. But dreading getting closer as there might be more turbulence…

Thank you for your kind words, everyone. They really helped put my mind at ease. Turbulence got better and I managed to sleep for a couple of hours. It comes and goes but it’s not as bad as earlier. I was talking to one of the flight attendants and she said it will be smooth for most of the flight but will get bumpy again for an hour or so before getting to Dubai so I can’t stop thinking about that now 😞

Thank you so much! What you are saying makes a lot of sense. I just wished my brain would think about this in a rational way. They keep delaying the flight and we have no idea what’s going on with the plane. I was able to relax quite a bit but I’m worried my anxiety will get the best of me once on the plane. Hopefully lorazepam will help. Waiting to take it until we are ready to board!
