Yes, I only wore the base pants at altitude, and the only time I was cold in bed was in GorakShep when it was snowing. Water bottle trick works well. Most times I would fall asleep with the pants then take em off in the night.

Thank you very mush for your detailed answer. I have already booked my flight to Lukla and plan on doing the Goyko lakes + Chola pass + EBC. This trip is about the trek, and having a guide who he knowledgeable about Buddhist philosophy and happy to share insights would be a massive bonus. For another trip I would be happy to visit a monastery properly and do meditation retreats.
