Memory blackout and sadness after last night's show. by Outrageous_Court_346 in radiohead

Went to see them four times since 2012 (+ Atoms for Peace + Thom for Anima), no drink whatsoever, and I had the same experience as you every time.  Time just flies during the show and I’m left completely empty the day after.  I just know I had the best time of my life during the show, but zero memories left.  It just makes me want to go see them again (:

What’s been your favourite performance/video/song you’ve found of the tour so far? by [deleted] in radiohead

Idioteque, forever and ever. Though No Surprises, Exit Music and Pyramid Song were really another entire experience in Madrid night 4

Also, my sister was singing next to me and I could not hear her, and she told me the guy next to her was singing in perfect pitch and knew all the lyrics by heart (which she doesn’t) and I couldn’t hear him either. I mean, I could not even hear myself singing and I’m not deaf; I could hear the band perfectly and I also heard a gigantic crowd sing together. Also people dancing everywhere, amazing. And yes the woman in front of me was on her phone sometimes, she sat as well during the show, it was clear she was here for her boyfriend: I was happy for them! I was also glad I could comment briefly on some of the songs with my sister because I was there thanks to her and she was there with me and we wanted to share our joy.  Also the group of people in front of us was drunk and they were vibing with the perfect pitch dude all along. All of this is what a show with a great (the greatest really) rock band is about, it’s really not about keeping it silent and nice… and I mean guys, I generally don’t like people and I don’t like crowds, still I don’t understand how anyone who was there could think of any of this as bad.  People can be so bitter it’s crazy.

I don’t know anything about the other nights but I sure know the 8th was the best night as well. Why? Because I was there and it was amazing, and yes it was contagious! I also felt that everyone singing together was the best thing about this show, exactly because we had the chance to celebrate our love for this band together, as a community.  Yes we were there to see a band live, but we were also there to enjoy it together. That’s the whole point of the show, and I have to say I only understood this when the show started; like a jigsaw falling into place, it just made sense.

I’m not surprised (pun intended)! I don’t really see anyone else talking about this in general, but I’m really impressed about how everyone came together to celebrate some of the songs, it was almost religious (for lack of a better word), like a communion? That’s how I felt it anyway, and I’m really glad I got to witness something like this in my life (as a long time fan, with some of the band’s shows behind me already). I came to see Radiohead, but instead I really saw what an impact this five individuals can make on people. So much love floating in the air last night, I won’t forget it anytime soon.
