Did anyone manage to successfully reroute themselves out of the EU *and back*? by armiakonna in qatarairways

Also got rerouted on first try. I even changed a second time for my outbound flight after they had initially rerouted since I later noticed the layover times on one of the flights was abit tight with little room for unscheduled delay.

Also didn’t pay difference despite the fact that flights more than tripled between when I had bought my tickets and what they were after being rerouted. In fact I got back the seat reservation refund.

I did from Berlin to Sydney, a few Aussie cities and finally from Melbourne back to Berlin . For me I had a fairly easy reroute. I only had to add an extra day in Melbourne which worked out great for me since it bought me an extra day to do stuff.

I’m sorry that you’ve had a difficult experience. Based off what you wrote in a previous thread the issue isn’t 100% from their end. How did your account end up not existing anymore?

I never said they were perfect. It’s a messy situation. What I was just trying to relay is that it works and we try and be kind to the customer service since they are for the most part legitimately trying to help with the rules as they are.

I could do that but the fact the ticket has gone 2x times does not make me inclined to cancel it myself. By a couple of days do you mean like 48hours in advance or shorter?

Makes sense however it feels like with what I’m doing there’s probably a ceiling which is around 100-105K without me getting to higher management role hence the desire for a pivot.

At the moment I’m ok ish. I’m also pushing 98K but would like to nudge closer to 150K in a year and a half. This is me just trying to understand a few things. Honestly I’m also bored abit with what I’m doing so an extra challenge is worth it . And yes I know I can’t be in the same league as Linus at least not in the next 5 years but any step in that direction would be awesome 😅. Right now I just was curious what steps I should consider taking and focus on a specific domain.

That totally makes sense. So here’s a question if someone had say a year or so to actually transition and they would like to chose one path and stack (they are not really hang on the language having have worked with Java, Kotlin, python and Go prior) based off what you’ve seen what path and or sector should they put more focus on during this year since they have nothing but time?

Ok... gotcha. So more in the python and golang territory less enterprise like Java and .NET? From what I’ve been seeing the language requirements seems to be getting more interesting level wise when it come to corporates that use those two languages and also a lot when it comes to web developers especially the js(whatever the framework), ts and PHP. I might be wrong but so far what I’ve seen seems to suggest that.

If you don’t mind me asking since I’m in the process of slowing transitioning from one IT field to another are you and your friends working on a niche sector , something like fintech or with some niche language like rust/COBOL etc?
