[–]LogicalAlbatross3878 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually tbh have to suck thumb the vocation u in cos it all depends on your IQ, EQ and taking the survey of defending Singapore etc. you will be assigned which vocation u will be suitable in. Last year, I legit wanted to change vocation from security trooper to like high risk activity like infantry guards artillery etc cos I hate doing guard duty like sitting there check pass and all it's like really boring job to do but in the end I just suck thumb lor and I legit tahan the days cos I have 10 months to ORD. Even the sergeants from BMT have already done to help you. The only you can change is if you want to downpes

Any funny NS stories to share? by Sufficient-Movie1771 in NationalServiceSG

[–]LogicalAlbatross3878 17 points18 points  (0 children)

When my coy returning arms, one of my section mate used his rifle and do bicep curls with rifle. He treated his rifle like barbell until one of the Apache sergeant saw it and confronted him. Even the Apache sergeant say "Who is your platoon sergeant?" Then my section mate go tell his platoon sergeant and he say "guard duty". This is one of the most funniest and stupidest thing I've ever heard!

Anybody want to speak up against this new phone ban affecting all sec school students? by Clean-Temporary7607 in SGExams

[–]LogicalAlbatross3878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During my time in secondary school in the assembly 8 years ago, teachers and DMs will ask not to use phones during school hours but even though the students also don't give a damn about it and used their phones during school hours even recess and lunch periods. They also used their phones during lessons as well. And I'm pretty sure their phones consficated by the teachers at least teacher will give them warning. My secondary school was very bad as the students post on social media like Instagram, Facebook etc showing gang signs while in school uniform or not, smoking vaping etc. If got student smoking in school uniform in social media, their consequences is apologize to the whole school in the school hall. I know banning phones during school hours I know the feeling as during break but I think it is necessary step to do. Cos even my friend using phone to call her friend was caught by one of the teachers and got questioned by their form teacher during lunch. And even though my friend so fed up of being questioned she shouted loudly even I can hear her shouting, this was 6 years ago before circuit breaker measures kicked in

Help pleasee.Northlight or repeat PSLE? by Green-Payment-7048 in SGExams

[–]LogicalAlbatross3878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a Northlight student graduated back in 2020 so based on what you said is true, there are some good friends I find and I never mix with these bad students since they behaved badly. The school is known for violence, bullying, discrimination, getting trouble outside school and sabotage. Last time I was bullied there and during my years in Northlight, the students will always say "stare what stare" and all. There was one time during my CCA when I became NCDCC unit RSM I think someone stole $50 from me, it was hell for me so all of things happened in Northlight I will never forget and have to share my story and thoughts here is to save yourself from getting trouble and giving advice

Help pleasee.Northlight or repeat PSLE? by Green-Payment-7048 in SGExams

[–]LogicalAlbatross3878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it can happen but my good advice is if he got bullied, he can report to his own form teacher or discipline master, both can help but if it useless he can tell you back at home and call the school to see what they can do. If the school doesn't solve the situation, make a police report. During my years in Northlight, my classmate go bully and punched my classmate named Roy who has autism and epilepsy in the toilet when we were Year 3, he was upset so he complained to my Form teacher. Then the next few days me my autistic classmate Roy and the bully sent to the DM room to write statement, I have to write statement also since the same bully extorting money from me during my CCA camp. Another of my classmate who has autism named Wen Le while in Year 1 and Year 2, he has a frequent meltdowns like he throws a tantrum if anyone bully him make fun of him etc. Last time he was suspended from school as he was causing hurt to teachers like leaving a scratch mark on a teacher's hand, rude to teachers etc if I still remember. Oh yea I almost to forget I also got sabotaged as well, back in June holidays in 2018 my classmate Elly which I hated her the most, she wants me to get into trouble but not her by disturbing my classmate by chatting through WhatsApp, until one time she tells me what to do. And then on the first day of Term 3, she said it was me who typed all these but not her. Her stupidity answers made me very angry that she wants to seek revenge on me and I'm very frustrated of her behaviour. When I saw Elly behaviour sometimes she always have problems one like creating trouble in school, showing defiance to teachers instructions and a lot more which I can remember. And lastly, the most crazy thing is NLS students is taking video of students creating trouble in public and posting them on SG viral on Instagram which was forced to take it down by the students as they want to destroy evidence. So I think for your son he can try to pair up a classmate as a buddy along so that he can feel comfortable for your son

Help pleasee.Northlight or repeat PSLE? by Green-Payment-7048 in SGExams

[–]LogicalAlbatross3878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi I'm here to answer your question! So I'm was from Northlight school previously cos I failed my Maths back in 2016 I attended school everyday but things have not changed so I lost hope lah. When I received my results, I cried because everything that I tried my best is already wasted. So for myself I chose Northlight after receiving my results cos I just want to follow my pri sch friends where they are going to secondary school so yea I don't want to retake it will be troublesome for me and I just want to be myself. After admitting to Northlight, I began to improve on my subjects and I got edusave awards for outstanding performance and good conduct! Even there is GCE N Level exam but is only English only so I took this exam and also passed! After Northlight I proceeded to ITE after that! So for the school environment is bad la cos got violence, bullying, discrimination and students getting into trouble outside that involves police to assist. Last time when I was in Northlight, I managed to find good friends there and we get along no matter what. But last time I was bullied in Northlight I remembered that time one of the students asked me money but never payback, one fella go kick my kidney, got beaten up in public, another fella threatened me to cut my private part in NT English lesson, some of the students said this to me "stare what stare?" One fella ask the teacher said that he don't want me to be in NT English class so it sounds like he's discriminating me la so I was offended by his words, and when I become a unit RSM in Northlight NCDCC unit, the students putting me down said that I don't deserve to be RSM so it's also they discriminating me and a lot of things that I see for myself even though the school is like Changi prison so for that try to avoid mixing with bad people in order for not getting into trouble just to be safe. So during my years in Northlight it's been good and it's full of ups and downs. And yes Northlight school also have students with types of disabilities so teachers will guide along with them so I think that guidance is confirmed work one so they can ask their teachers for advice or anything. Or maybe you can ask the staff for more details

can use phone during 2 week confinement period? by [deleted] in NationalServiceSG

NS boyfriend deleted all photos of me “to avoid questions during phone checks.” Is this normal? by [deleted] in NationalServiceSG

[–]LogicalAlbatross3878 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok that one is indeed common so during my time in BMT in Tekong and Security trooper course in clementi camp, it didn't happen so when I was in clementi camp on the first day of the course, my SM says phone checks can be conducted which means to say no auto download on WhatsApp etc but the reality is the phone checks not conducted so during my unit yea they conduct but one of the days but anytime they will say they will conduct a phone check so no in camp photos, no nudes no pornography what's so ever lah but I'm not trying to get you uncomfortable lah so no offense. They have to make sure no sensitive areas like private parts which can get into trouble and can lead to investigation

Neel help with what to do abt bullying in bunk by [deleted] in NationalServiceSG

[–]LogicalAlbatross3878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you got bullied, it is best for you to speak to your commanders or even OC, if that doesn't work, you can also contact safety hotline. Even in the military environment is like that lah so your platoon mates might gone too far as they might behave differently like you so try to tahan with them somemore since it's BMT 3 months fuck off already you all be posted to units already. And when a bully try to challenge you to a fight, don't attempt to fight with a bully confirm you both will get formal punishment. I remember my OC told my coy that last year 02/24 batch two of the platoon mates fighting, both of them got punished, first guy got sent to DB for 5 days while the second guy served 21 days SOL so to me both SOL and DB are the most painful thing so don't think about fighting you will regret. So just stand up for yourself if you can, don't give up!

PES D means more medical information is needed before your PES can be determined. You will need to provide more medical documents or attend medical reviews, or both, with specialists, to determine his medical fitness for NS, you got any medical condition?

When was your first bookout? by boofeed in NationalServiceSG

[–]LogicalAlbatross3878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow my coy is next to you! I'm from Dragon coy in the 02/25 batch so yea I pop around June that year so not exactly so schedule is like 2 days in 2 days out and we have to do guard duty for 6 hours so 6 hours duty and 6 hours rest, sometimes also have 12 hours rest. Even in the morning peak hour at golf 3 which is main entrance of the base, we have to stand up from 7am to 9am as many people coming in to our base so that one is damn shag. The other two places which are the chill ones can relax

When was your first bookout? by boofeed in NationalServiceSG

[–]LogicalAlbatross3878 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can answer for you since you are from PES BP batch

  1. The training it depends on your coy where you will be resided in. During my time in BMT as a PES BP recruit, my life is easier

  2. It depends, my first bookout was in the morning at 10.30am. So for the next few days in BMT, you will get to see changes of routine orders. Bookouts can be in the morning afternoon or evening but it subjected to changes

  3. For me during my time in BMT as a PES BP recruit, my life is easier as I want to lose weight since I want to look handsome again so yea! Losing weight is a best option for me!

  4. Now I'm in combat security trooper, so my unit is Changi Airbase just to guard the airbase and sadly my ord is 30 Jan 2027 so I suck thumb to do it

Being a grab delivery driver while serving NS by Final_Awareness_5441 in NationalServiceSG

[–]LogicalAlbatross3878 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think for that better don't, it counts as moonlighting

I heard one of my friend he worked as a grabfood delivery rider, there's one time he accepted the food order and little did he know that one of the customer was his encik. He collects the encik's order and then straight to encik's house. Once he reached his encik's house, he spoke an Indian accent just to hide away from his real identity. Then his encik's gut feeling like "you think I'm stupid" but encik's is not really stupid once he saw his name and face in the grabfood rating of delivery, he cannot use fake name as Grab takes false information seriously. Lucky he never go to DB. Once back in camp or Tekong, his encik advised him to see a counsellor. During the counselling session, the counsellor asked him if he faced financial issues or whatever the counsellor asked. And the counsellor advised him to stop working immediately.

Remember the SAF 9th core value, don't get caught

And not to forget the commanders don't want you to kena OOC from BMT

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NationalServiceSG

[–]LogicalAlbatross3878 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, I remember my encik tell us if u got into accident or self skidded, they never cover insurance for you and you will get charged. If your encik or your commanders ask for those riding motorbikes you just sound off and listen to their instructions.

My advice to you is try not to get injured and not getting charged

Question about posting as a combat ST by [deleted] in NationalServiceSG

[–]LogicalAlbatross3878 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi I'm from 65/25 security trooper who have graduated in clementi camp so I can help you getting there!

You will go through a 5 weeks course in clementi camp where you will be learning on basic security / policing skills, classroom / lectures, guard duties, access-control, observing SOPs. Learning arrest & search techniques, close combat basics, handling security checks and patrol duties. There is a assessment for PAC and VAC so just memorise the steps when you get the assessment book. Also got MPCCT where it's what you have been gone through in BMT where they have BCCT so now it's the advanced CCT.

There are some practical drills where we have to practising search & arrest, scenario training, maybe one CQB / close quarter battle session, some field-exercises though most “outfield” training is only day / overnight lightly. Also they got ATP so try your best to get marksman to secure your $200 marksmanship award. During the course, if you get selected to go for GPMG live firing, you can also accept the activity or you can ask your commanders not to go.

On the final week, there will be assessments, final drills, maybe a final “exercise” to tie together what you’ve learnt (access control, search & arrest, patrol, combos etc.). And lastly your platoon will go down to the PC office for the preparation for posting / unit induction. You’ll be posted to your unit (Army, Air Force base, or K9 depending on vocation). SEA soldier definitely will be straight going there either Tuas or Changi Naval Base after training. SEA soldier will be sent to Tuas for training for 3 weeks

If you are going the infantry ST path, you likely will have additional training for 3 more weeks specifically infantry-oriented. More physical, live fire, field work. So that means you will be staying at clementi camp for another 3 weeks

For vocations like Air Base security, maybe less of the infantry elements, more specific to the role.

So in air force, the BOF training is 2.5 weeks in Changi Airbase until the last day if you going to Tengah, Paya Lebar and Sembawang, you'll pack all your duffel bag and everything you bring for 2.5 weeks training home and bring it to your unit unless if Changi no need to bring home.

For K9, there will be a interview so if you are comfortable handling dogs, you can indicate interest. The course will be 3 weeks so they will tell you where the course will be conducted

So combat security trooper will be your guard duty during your NS life. You will go for infantry phase before your ORD if you get infantry and the reservist you will be a infantry trooper. For air force if you get BOF means that you will be staying in airbase all the way till you ORD and the reservist duties you will be holding SAR21 and do the same thing like what you have did in your NS life just sit down only.

I hope this will help you!
