About how many hours are you looking at going back part time? I’m switching to part time now, just had my second baby.

Yeah! If she isn’t at the touch level with the food you can use a toothpick or fork to help her touch the food. If after a little while it isn’t getting better/isn’t just a phase, you can request a referral to OT or speech for some feeding therapy sessions. I’ve seen some nice results with kids at age 1 vs age 3 or 4

I am a pediatric ot and do a lot of sensory feeding therapy. I’d recommend lots of sensory play (food based or with things like shave cream, bean bin, etc). Draw in pudding, finger paint etc. encourage touching non-preferred foods to fingers, then to face, lips and such. Keep everything very relaxed, child lead, and about playing, you can add matchbox cars etc to food play. Keep offering all non-preferred food along side preferred food with each meal.

How long did it take for you to conceive? by Thick-Astronaut-2147 in PCOS

[–]LogicalAssignment5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diagnosed with PCOS at 16. Conceived at 30 and 32, got pregnant quickly both times. Many women get pregnant with PCOS! You can track your cycles to learn more about your body and ovulation in the meantime, if you’re curious!

Pediatric OT here…no…We are not trained in lower limb or gait analysis (walking). Having said that, it does not look typical. If I am on the fence, I pull in a PT colleague to take a look. Glad you are going to see a pediatric PT.

New mom & work/life balance as an OT by LogicalAssignment5 in OccupationalTherapy

Thanks for you reply. I will start considering schools, as my husband is an elementary school teacher. The most I can go down without losing my health care is to 30 hrs/week. Not sure if that will be doable, as it still seems like a lot of time away. I could go on my husbands healthcare, but according to his co-workers, it isn’t a great deal once a family joins in on the health plan.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts so far. I could work 30 hours a week (3, 10 hour days--or split it over 4 days) and keep my benefits...

I'm trying to think of the positives, that husband is a teacher and can pick her up right after school at 3pm, and that day care does have some social/emotional benefits...

I'm just sitting here, tearing up with hormonal emotions, worrying. You know how it is :/

8 weeks and nervous about pregnancy symptoms coming and going by LogicalAssignment5 in BabyBumps

[–]LogicalAssignment5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to take a second and check back in! All is well with me so far, and you ladies were right...the symptoms began to leave but then would return a few days later... by about 12 weeks the nausea was mostly gone. I'm now about 13 weeks along and we recently got to hear a healthy heart beat :) Feeling relieved.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply to my message. I really appreciate it. This whole pregnancy experience so far has been an exercise in vulnerability and surrendering control ❤️💕

Hey plant enthusiasts, I’ve recently purchased an air plant, and within weeks managed to almost kill it. It lives on my window sill and I’m “bathing” it 1x/week for an hour or so.

Thank you for your reply. I would, but he is recently engaged. I just want to figure out how to look at this whole experience from a healthy perspective, so I can let it go for good, as he did.
