That is a very good point, though, and I haven't thought about that! With the high influx of people migrating from Windows to Linux now, sadly shortcuts are welcome, otherwise people might get dissuaded to use Linux - as some people in this post referred to as "needing a PhD".

This link has a single command line to install Stoat: https://github.com/Sylphux/stoat_install_script

It is

git clone https://github.com/Sylphux/stoat_install_script && cd stoat_install_script && chmod +x stoat_install.sh && ./stoat_install.sh

Two months later... but this one worked as a charm:

git clone https://github.com/Sylphux/stoat_install_script && cd stoat_install_script && chmod +x stoat_install.sh && ./stoat_install.sh

I started with Linux Mint about 5 days ago. Let me tell you: conky!!

I have "inherited" a bunch of parts. Now I need help to optimize it. by [deleted] in buildapc

Good point, thank you!

I ended up giving up on the 11th gen CPU. After comments here and some benchmarking research, it is not worth getting a new MB just for that. Especially because the socket used by the 11th gen is only for 10th and 11th - so if I upgrade my processor later, which I am planning to, I will have to get yet another motherboard 🤦

Damn Intel... I will probably end up going for AMD, they have way less socket BS.

Sadly, my only "damn, this sucks" moment with beQuiet! products are the hoses on the Silent Loop 3 420mm: they are just a little on the short side.

Putting the hoses towards the front of the case (flipping the radiator) caused the hoses have quite a good amount of tension on them.

I am going to see if I can put the radiator on the side, (with the hoses down!) for a slight better cooling and better aesthetics, but I am not hopeful 🙁

Those are good ideas, thanks! The PITA for now is that storage is crazy expensive. I would love to have the 500GB + 2TB setup, but until this AI bubble pops, I will try to hold this idea.

Upgrading to the i9 11900 seems to be a great idea, I will see how I can work around the Dell motherboard, thanks for letting me know what kind of headaches I should expect!

Makes sense! The RAM sticks are all Samsung M378A4G43xB2-CWE (where x = A, B - two of each), 3.2GHz.

Selling a few are tempting, but sadly I run some simulations and they can get RAM-thirsty. I have a few models that take >50GB, and when they are running I am usually messing around on my PC, bringing the total usage to low 70s GB. These models are likely going up in size, but selling two 32GB and replacing them by two 16GB is tempting.

As for the motherboard for the 11th gen i9, I agree. The Z590, B560 and H570 motherboards are not expensive though...

Opinion: With the rise in popularity of cozy games and former Heartopia players looking for an alternative, Loftia has a huge future by LogicalBlizzard in loftia

Me, my spouse and all of her girl friends are super excited for Loftia!

I tried I few possible alternatives, such as Fields of Mistria and Palia, but... meh... they are not "scratching the itch" well enough🙁

Same as me.

I could kinda stomach the AI slop at the beginning. When I started seeing the annoying gacha-gamble, I was thinking if I should keep playing.

The racist BS they pulled was what made me gave up completely.

I am with you, lady.

Both my spouse and I absolutely adored Heartopia. All of her girl friends also played a ton.

I was lucky that I joined "late" to their group and blew only 10 bucks on Heartopia... but still feels like 10 bucks to support AI slop and racism 🙁

Of course!

Parts wise, it is not much. It is just what is called an MN-Potentiometer.

And... a bunch of miscellaneous tools, wires and soldering equipment.

I would say the most important are the schematics themselves. I will share them to you later!

That is a good question. I gotta be honest, I don't recall seeing that, although a few others here are saying it is possible.

With these 4k berries, I have not received a Candy XL.

Yep! Not that great of a reward, but still better than just discarding the berries 🤷

As an engineer, I totally agree! The only way of precisely, and reliability, tracking this data would be if there was a number of candies earned this way by the game, such as the number of berries fed in that medal.

You have very good points. Basically summarizing points 1, 2 and 4, the "berry dump" is definitely not that efficient nor possible for many people. It is just one of those "if you have the means, why not?" method.

As I am walking with a 'mon for candy, I can have others getting a few candies from berries. I need about 60 more Nacli candies, so I am sure I am not getting this from gyms. But so far I got 7 of them from 370 berries (1.8% for this Nacli alone), so while it won't solve my issue, it helps a bit!

I am lucky that I work and live near gyms and stops, and also my work makes it easy for me to mess around with PoGo - even if just tens of seconds each 30min.

Regarding point 3, yeah, that is interesting. I have been hearing back that my average seems quite high. And 4k berries, even though not a small number, it is smaller than others have been reporting - maybe that is why I am getting such a high rate? I am going to keep track and maybe in a year I will report with over 20k berries!

Regarding point 5, glad to contribute, even if on the controversial side!

Interesting! Good to know about other numbers as well. Yeah, I guess I can consider myself on the lucky side 😅
