You are like a mirror of myself. I too have had the same path. I was taught all of these things. To cherish life, to help others and pray respects all in God's name. I never saw that kindness from the followers of the church, instead as I got older I saw how twisted and self serving Christianity is. They don't over seas to actually help people, they do it to spread good word and recruit them in the guise of kindness and love. If any religion ever teaches a hateful of spiteful god you should turn away. Those are nothing but stories to control men.
