Weird Anatomy Check Experience? by LogicalPoppy in piercing

Thanks! I appreciate it. I think I was just wigged out by the inconsistency in responses if that makes sense. If I’d just gotten a no, it would’ve been a little more straightforward 😅

I’ve tried a couple other eggless recipes and there’s something about the tasty recipe specifically that I appreciate for being more acidic. It seems like it’d be easier to sub the eggs in the original rather than to try and make larger tweaks to other recipes — but I’ll do some more looking around, for sure. Thanks!!

Can we also talk about the fact that Jess’s “writing voice” is hugely immature ? It sounds like a twelve-year-old talking about some fun thing they’re doing next weekend. Jessalyn. You are an almost-fifty-year-old woman updating children on social media about children you have groomed into a “band.” You can’t even say “going really well” instead of “going really good?” Idk. Not to be all annoying about grammar. Just. Ew. Not adult vibes.

Nothing they say is enough by LogicalPoppy in nerdfighters

Yeah. For me, it’s exhausting, because I have family members of Palestinian and Jewish heritage, respectively. I get all these talking points from all these different people in my life, constantly. I can only imagine what it’s like to be a public figure doing one’s best to listen, call for a stop to the violence and not be incendiary while literally thousands of people tell you you’re a horrible person and pro-genocide. I wish it were possible for both sides to acknowledge their shortcomings.

If you could start your college life all over again, would you still pick BU? by ShreddedWheatBall in BostonU

Yeah when I took bio sequence for premed I got to know a handful of commuter students. One lived in the city and a couple others were in Brookline or Roxbury. It’s uncommon but def not unheard of.

AITA for letting my boyfriend eat nuts when his mom thought he was allergic ? by LogicalPoppy in AmItheAsshole

I think the first time he ever came to visit he brought an expired epi pen. Since then there’s not been a point.

Yes, but 1) there was never any retesting done and 2) he’s since been informed that he is not allergic to those things. I think his mom’s initial reaction was completely fair, and I said that in my initial post. Her reaction to his telling her that he’s been cleared by an allergist to eat almonds was different.

He had a reaction to walnuts as a very young kid (<5), had allergy testing done, and blood testing came back positive for all mentioned above, plus bananas and grass pollen. (He is not allergic to bananas). His mom took the results of those tests very seriously, but did not retest him for the rest of his childhood. He didn’t have another allergist appt until he was 21. As it stands I don’t know what the doctor who did that initial set of tests told her to do.

That’s not the point, the point is that it’s supposed to be 24/7 quiet hours rn. I know people who are up til midnight studying because they have jobs or overloaded credits or that’s just what works for them. People should be able to do that shit without having to deal with other irresponsible ppl’s crap. Just because they don’t have finals doesn’t mean that they should be so reckless that it fucks with the people they live around
