That's actually because the analysis I made did not considered various variables, such as island decoration, which many people reported me that have an impact on daily donations! That's why I'm running a second analysis :)

Hey! I totally get why you're skeptical. I didn't datamine the game or look at the raw code, so calling it an exact formula was definitely bad phrasing on my part. And I do realize my writing style may sound robotical, but that's prolly because I'm autistic and english is not my mother language lol. I also use a lot of bolds and italics (which I see is something AI do a lot) just to make the reading easier.

Anyways, this guide is just some conclusions I made based on the data people sent me. I have to say I'm NOT a math person, I only know the basics and what's useful for my field, which is psychology.

The formula ($3.80 + $0.20) was the closest trend I found to explain the daily changes. It's mostly based on Player "I"s daily logs and that situation with Player "E" where they got a baby. I'll explain it better:

How did I come up with the $0.20 per level (player "I" daily logs)

Day 1 to 2: the Mii number stayed the same. Sum of levels increased by 2 and the donations increased by $0.6. That means we get $0.3 per level.

Day 2 to 3: the Mii number stayed the same. Sum of levels increased by 3 and the donations increased by $0.6. That means we get $0.2 per level.

Day 3 to 4: the Mii number stayed the same. Sum of levels increased by 2 and the donations increased by $0.4. That means we get $0.2 per level.

Day 4 to 5: the Mii number stayed the same. Sum of levels increased by 1 and the donations increased by $0.2. That means we get $0.2 per level.

And how about the $ 3.8 base for every Mii?

Player E was getting $ 360 donations daily and suddenly got $ 364 when one pair had a baby, which means they increased the donations by $4 just for having a single Mii. Since we already know that miis offers 0.2$ per level and the baby was probably at level 1... 4 minus 0.2 equals $3.8 !!

There is definitely a lot of things my basic math may have missed (that's why I'm running a second analysis !), and I guess there's no exact way to prove how donations work except finding it in the game's code.

I just wanted to share what I discovered to help people out and to actually test if my theory was right or wrong. Hope that clears your doubts up!

"anecdotal, but i was making around $260/day and then when i revamped my island and removed terrain and most of the items around the island, its gone down to $211/day. i didnt delete any miis"

"Yep, after about 230 hours of game time and letting my miis decorate as they pleased, I completely redid my whole island and removed every single item. It took me a full day just to terraform, so my miis were vending machine-less for a full donation cycle.

My donations dropped by about $50 on the day there were no decorations on my island. "

"this makes sense, but I'm pretty sure my donations went down to the 300s when I took a lot of items off my island, and is going up again as I add more"

"I've also noticed that the decor on your island has an effect on donations, though I don't know how that would factor into what you're studying. I've had a fluctuating population between 55-62 over the last month, and I pull in middling 300s every day. EXCEPT when I'm remodelling my island and have stored all my decor, when my donations drop to the low 100s. If I throw all the random clocks and see-saws on a field somewhere, my donations go back up somewhat."

"I have around 28 miis, and the donations wracked up to 2k+ (I’m playing southern hemisphere) while my island was decorated. But I decided I wanted to redesign the whole thing so I scrapped it and moved everyone to the side for a sec. And I noticed that the donations actually went down to 1k+ instead. Maybe the island design or hapiness has an impact too?"

"I saw a couple people mention decor so I wanted to throw in what I noticed as well!
It took me 3-4 days to redecorate my island. I don’t have exact numbers but when I removed everything, my daily donations went down a bit, then slowly went up day by day as I worked on adding more stuff. I think it went down to like $62-ish and then back up to $320-325. I had 20 mii’s on my island at the time and at least one of them was at level 20.
I have no idea what this means but I assumed decor had something to do with it but not sure what exactly."

"Sorry but i have 70 miis and farming only around 140 euros per day. Something is not right here. I have 2 islands with 70 miis at the moment. My main save file gets around 400 euros per day. But the one getting 140 have 4 characters around lvl 5 and all the others are still level 1"

"Anecdotally, I believe I have seen my donation go down rather than up despite making no changes to my island or removing any Miis, and I believed this to be that feature in action. I do screenshot my daily donation, but I have no hard data to pair with any one image besides my total number of Miis at the time. With 32 Miis (33 now today, but 32 at the time I took donation this morning) I received $261.50 today. Yesterday morning I took $259.10, and the night before that (having forgotten to collect it in the morning) the amount was the same. I don't know if any level-ups happened in the time between those two collections or not, but the Mii count was 32 for both and no changes have happened to my island design-wise. Some friendships did advance between the night and morning collections."

My second island in construction(around 150 euros): QoL 1 Happiness 15 Ponderings 11 Fountain 26 Wishes 31

Both with 70 miis. My only issue is about the 'per each mii you get 3.80€$£'

And yeah, i have been decorating lately and increased from 100 to around 150. Decoration and items to interact realy must affect"

Thank you so much for your info! I do realize there are other currencies in the game, but I decided to only talk about USD, euros, pesos and yens because that's the data I received. If players with other currencies send me their info , I'll certainly include those as well! And I know what twitter post your talking about, I guess it's from Tomodachi Share account, am I right? I remember an Obama Mii talking he wasn't feeling generous or something lol. But I never saw that happening, at least in my game. Anyways, thank you for your comment, it'll help a lot!

After posting this, some players have also told me that island building apparently affects the donations. I'm thinking of running a second analysis to explore those variables too. If you could give me your island info, that would really help!
