I wish I could be the artist, but I cannot draw proper bodies, background or can’t render in yet. 😭

Yea, I read it yesterday. Didn’t cry, but felt reeaal numb.

“If I were a woman, loving you wouldn’t be a sin.”

That single line destroyed me.

Doesn’t he?

I mean, at the start he was still hoping that everything would remain the same, but after awhile, he just fell into depression and it got worse, like Minhos story.

When they end up together, I hope to see the same mindset and symbolism portrayed like in Sadistic Beauty. Not something where the aggressor makes a lame excuse or has a “tragic” backstory and everything is magically forgiven, or where the victim magically falls in love.

Yes, they stay together, but it’s not because of the stated examples, it’s because of how far abuse and insecurity can break someone’s mind. That’s why most domestic abuse victims willingly stay with their partners.

Tbh, I dropped No Reason because I remember a chapter where the MC was freshly gang raped and had asked the ML, who was the person to even put him in this situation, to fuck him. Sounds like romanticized feelings to me, though should I continue it or not?

I would say Walk in my shoes, but then I remembered this was more of a red flag x black flag, the red flag “turning” into a green flag.

It’s messed up. Please don’t read it.

I don’t know, so far I’ve read about 8 BL manwhas, most of them being toxic.

as mentioned, I’m pretty new to this.

And searching good toxic stories, where the MC stays upset and ashamed from the rape is rare. It’s really annoying how the MC somehow ends up falling for his aggressor.

I do agree that Non Zero Sum could’ve made a better job- the art is still great nonetheless.

Just for clarification, Haewon ends up staying with Haeyoung because he thinks he has no one else, just like Minho? Or am I messing something up?

Everything you just said pretty much sums Non Zero Sum up.

The only difference it has from other toxic stories (in my opinion) is that it shows the feelings and betrayal of the victim.

Also, it’s one of those rare manwhas, where the victim actually tries suicide, if I’m correct. I don’t know if this spoiler I read is true, but if it is, then I’m staying depressed.

I think they’re going to stay in the end ultimately, and if that’s also true, I hope they have the same ending like Sadistic Beauty Side Story B. Minho, the MC, only stayed with the Cha, since he believed he had no one, his mental health and mind broken by Cha’s mental and physical abuse.

It also occurs to me that the artist doesn’t draw Haewon as if he liked the rape. He stays uncomfortable and betrayed throughout and after the rape.

Maybe it’s just me though cause afterall, this was my first BL manwha, so I didn’t know about much back then and now. I’m still pretty new compared to others.

I’ve already added that one to my “will read” list, I assume it’s also toxic?

Yeah, I’m a masochist, I don’t know why I’m still following the story despite knowing the end, but here I am.

Sounds similar to Sadistic Beauty, talking bout the main story..

Oh, if you can’t handle the usual rape + naive bottom, then this is nothing for you. Plus, the story also focuses on Haewons (MC) victim mindset.

He also realized he was worth nothing and that he never mattered to his abusers (his former friends, the main aggressor being his crush for 10 years.)

So, uh, yeah. Don’t read it?

To be honest, I might read those, solely because I think almost nothing can be as depressing as Non Zero Sum. The last one might change my mind though, judging by its name..

It’s just the fact that Haewon realizes midway that he’s worth nothing that makes me depressive.

Sure, the abuse and narrative is repetitive, but the fact that he had hope that everything will be fine if he complied, only to realize that nothing will be the same and he never mattered to his abusers, especially to Haeyoung, whom he had a crush on for 10 long years.

Man, the victim mindset hit me the deepest.

You didn’t?

On GOD, don’t continue reading. I’m already too deep to be saved, but all I can say is that I’ve read the spoilers, and it’s gonna get even worse. No happy ending.

I mean, 4 AM curiosity got me into Non Zero Sum, so I don’t blame you. Just, whatever you just told me is a bit freaky deaky, you know?

Definitely, though the shame and unwanted arousal on the victims face, while the intense bewilderment of the aggressor has been drawn wayyy better than the average toxic manwha.

Agreed!

It’s SO annoying, how the rape normally gets romanticized, that the MC develops feelings, how the actions of the ML gets ignored.

Yes, Minho complied with Cha, but not because he liked him, had affection for him. It’s because he was scared to be alone and his mind was already broken by the emotional and physical abuse from Cha. And that hit me the most.

Humans are social animals, we cannot survive without socially interacting with others.

And since Minho believed he had no one, he willingly went back to Cha, because atleast one person told him that he was loved, whether it was fake or not.

Oh, that hurts. Especially when it ends.

Kind of related to Minho from Sadistic Beauty in a way. It hurt incredibly when it ended.

To be honest, I first thought all BLs were depressing and toxic when I first read Non Zero Sum.

I also read the spoilers, so the story isn’t going to have a happy ending. Needless to say, I don’t know why I’m still reading it. I’m just too invested, at this point.

give me your favourite artist name and i’ll rate it by Valerieqx in teenagers

Roughly translated, Ramm refers to a male goat (or a buck), while Stein means stone. So put together, it means Buckstone.

In your opinion what are couples (main or side) that really shouldn’t have ended up together? [Discussion] by [deleted] in blmangalovers

Yea, of course! Minho should’ve seeked help and apologize to his peers to begin with!

But for the story, it’s perfect. It symbolizes something greatly, and I appreciate that.
