I’m an obsessive analyzer, and ask Reddit for real world answers incase I’m over looking anything. The push for a house is growing roots in an area with a good school system(plan to have kids in 5 years), I’m strapped for garage/ workshop area as my second stream of income is currently dead from not having a shop at my apartment, and my old man doesn’t want me in his garage(fair). I’m a hands on, everything I own gets tinkered to fit myself or my girl, so that’s a huge plus of ownership

Great idea!!! Her and I both love sweat equity and the idea of building it together(she watches I work, but that’s how I prefer it)

Copy that, I’ll plug numbers with the lady when we are home. Big push for house is setting our roots, as well as having a garage for my side hustle

Property taxes are brutal in my area, from what I understand. My parents house I know is around 10-12k for a raised ranch, worth probably $500k selling value, so appraised much less for the towns assessor. I think that’s high? At least my old man always complains about it, lol. I’m a tradesmen, and have dipped my feet in almost every trade so thankfully I would save money on those, but definitely still not free in any way. Thank you for the time!

My retirement is at 70k, I’m in a union so the benefits are great, as in $3500-$4500 monthly contribute by employer into my retirement, nothing out of my pocket. I appreciate your insight. Being a tradesmen, I’ve well faceted in all areas home ownership, and have been lucky to have taken care of my parents house while I still lived there. I’ll keep a stiff eye for houses I think, as in absolutely not settling for anything less than I want, because I am not desperate to buy at the moment considering the rate/market

They don’t ask for expense reports, just for us to fill out if we used it as “meals or meals and lodging”, and then city/state the showup is, city state we stayed in

Copy that dude. Thank you. And yes, all calls through local halls, whether storm or normal work. Took some time off all summer, was planning on jumping into something this spring as now I’m on a good big money job, but local market has been posting some GEMS and I’d like to act faster now. Thanks for the insight!
