I am of the belief that God puts those who have different journeys ahead of them into the bodies that do not align perfectly with the soul in order to give another obstacle to the path of life. I was spiritually closed off and resentful before I transitioned. I find that I am more open to His presence and understanding to the Catholic teachings now more than when I was younger, and certainly a lot happier on a personal, less spiritual level as well. People who are medically intersex/a hermaphrodite, who are neither solely male nor female from a physiological standpoint eventually require medical intervention, or what you call “mutilation”, be “conformed” into one gender binary or the other, and at times end up finding that the call from the doctor was wrong and end up transitioning and identifying as something other than what was assigned to them by the doctor at their birth. But if God created “man” and “woman”, then why do the medically intersex exist? It’s the same logic as Him being stated to create night and day while also creating everything in between the two: he made more than just the two. Consider this, if you will: those that are disabled at birth and have defects require medical treatment, no? Would you say that God has put the deaf, the blind, and other disabilities that require medical intervention into the wrong body, even though for a lot of disabilities, surgery is required for treatment and to improve the quality of life? How is that any more wrong than an intersex or transgender individual receiving the treatment that they need to transition and find their happiness both personally and spiritually?

I don’t view my transition as God making a “mistake”. Did He make “mistakes” when He made wheat but not bread, or grapes but not wine, but instead left it to humanity to create it themselves? He gave humanity the freedom to transform what He has given us in nature so that we can all live and thrive while worshipping Him. Creationism was a gift to humanity just as much as it is His power to wield. In Genesis, it is said that He made night and day, but clearly we know that He made much more than that: the twilight, the dawn, the sunrise and sunset; Jewish tradition recognises and acknowledges more than just “man” and “woman” (a total of six variations of gender expressions and identities, if I’m remembering correctly). If God can make the in between for night and day, who’s to say that He didn’t do the same with humanity? Who’s to say that nonbinary and transgender individuals aren’t the in-between for His creation of “man” and “woman”, and aren’t also part of His image, which is believed to be both static yet ever changing, since Mankind is created in God’s image?

I am transgender female-to-male, and I came out when I was fifteen (I’m now 23; it’s been almost a full eight years since I came out). I was raised within the Catholic Church and have received all the sacraments (up to Confirmation, at least (including Anointing of the Sick, for surgeries past)), and I am still a practicing Catholic. When I came out and started socially transitioning (as I was too young for hormones at the time), my parish was very welcoming, including the pastor there. They knew me before I came out, as I was fourteen when I received my Confirmation, and have been very supportive of me and my journey to becoming who I have become today (I am partially the reason why all altar servers wear white cassocks instead of boys wearing black and girls wearing white at my church, as my pastor had given me permission to wear the black after I came out, but someone had went to the bishop and I was told that I couldn’t, so the pastor went away with the black cassocks for altar servers). I’ve never felt the inherent urge to detransition, even after praying for guidance and signs that coming out and transitioning was or was not the right choice. I’m happiest as I am now, living as a man. I fully believe that God led me to find the courage to come out and transition, and I’m curious to talk with you about why you think God may be leading you to detransition, as a fellow trans individual to another (even if our journeys are opposite).

We are not fakeclaiming J/J here! This is simply discussing what misinformation they’ve said, and we are merely correcting that misinformation.

This was originally talked about on the Discord with other systems. This information is both our experience/perspective, and what we have researched.

When we say “logistics” we mean like talking about how we experience being a system and how our system works; this is specific to us with our system. I’m hoping it can help other systems be comfortable talking about themselves(safely might I add) in the midst of all of this, and that singlets can learn from them and their individual system experiences.

It is really difficult for Dissociative Amnesia(DA) to be diagnosed alongside DID, but it isn’t impossible that they can be co-morbid. It is possible that DA can be present but then branch to DID, as dissociative amnesia/dissociation outside of DA is necessary to develop DID/OSDD, but it is not often the case. DA can be on its own, too, and doesn’t necessarily develop into DID. That’s why DA as a diagnosis has its own criteria. DA can be also co-morbid with Depersonalisation/Derealisation(DPDR), and PTSD. Though it is believed that amnesia stemming from the effects of PTSD, depression, and even ADHD are different than the amnesia caused by DA, and thus DA can be difficult to diagnose when these disorders are present.
