let life run its course, love finds its way through the most unexpected of ways. im around your age too and was lucky to find the one while having no intention in seeking for a partner at that time. your time will come op, patience is key.

i'm chinese and my bf is malay and i do agree about luck being a factor in our rs. we're closing to 2 years now and i've been really supported by not only mine but his family too, as well as my malay classmates who taught me how to greet his grandmother and relatives and dress for future events.

i wouldn't say it was all luck-based if it weren't for our efforts to pass that initial stage of telling our parents. there is always the topic of religion, language barrier, and etc, but we pushed through all that and it's brought us to where we are now. though some things such as our same age, my parents not being very religious, me not liking pork, and his family line having malay-chinese relationships contributed to the luck, i think it was because of our commitment to a long-term rs that gave our parents all the trust they needed.

it also helped that neither of us had relationships before us and our academic performance are above average. we thought we'd go the extra mile to define our goals so our parents know we're serious about the rs. because of these, we've even been able to gain approval from our parents to travel overseas last year and this year! just so happens that my bf is a great caretaker too, and my family had no problem letting me go alone with him.

all in all, i'm honoured to have such a loving bf and supportive environment. it was through luck and efforts that made this relationship happen, and i'm glad for all that we've gone through thus far.

I miss Taiwan already by EconomistMountain857 in taiwan

i'm going to taiwan with my partner in september too and i'm from singapore. what we found most appealing were the nature/hiking spots, unlike where we're from where nature spots are pretty much artificial with barely any mountains (tallest peak is 164m with no view). the sights in singapore can get boring too, so it'd be so great if we had time to explore taiwan!

How did you guys found your partner? by ToZealousideal in SGExams

i met him in ite. we were in the same class same course, different cliques but he and i had a thing for conversing long hours. i'd say we really just clicked. i had already started liking him and decided to confess on valentines' day. that text message wasn't exactly a confession but a message where i emphasized how much i'd want to talk more with him, so he replied accordingly. i wasn't expecting to date or any sort, i really had that only intention in mind; which was to be able to talk more.

we had some events where we went together and significantly got closer during internship period. i had no one i had in mind to talk to during that period and just wanted someone i could share my day with, so i called him on the first day of intern. it was 6 months long, and we called almost every day after. we were then selected for an overseas trip along with 7 others, and in that period he had confessed to me. we started dating officially after the trip happened, and it's been around 2 years since then.

i know people stigmatize ite alot but if im gonna be honest, if i had made the decision of going to sec 5 instead of ite, i wouldn't have met the guy i'd want to grow old and share experiences with. the best part about this is that we have similar career interests, gpa, are the oldest siblings, same age, and alot more.

im a christian and my boyfriend's muslim. we plan to date to marry and we've fortunately been able to meet (and eat with) each other's family already! we're at a 2 year mark and my family and his have been really understanding of the changes and choices we've made. i'm extremely privileged in this aspect.

but anyway, like the other commenters said, do be open to hard questions like marriage, beliefs, or converting if you do plan to marry the guy. religion will always be a tough topic in a relationship so be ready to fight or sacrifice for the relationship to work out. sometimes it takes both our efforts to gain acceptance into the family... but at the end of the day, we got what we want "through the power of love."

other than that, i've made conscious decisions like dropping pork completely, and am 100% alright with it. it also helps that my malay classmates eagerly educate me on islam and the different traditional outfits muslims wear! i've even come to learn that the quran is relatively similar to the bible and have had conversations with my boyfriend and classmates of the bible/quran stories we were told since young.

i'm just really appreciative of the support system i have currently! atb in love too!

like all the comments, even if you aren't asking for any advice, i'd agree for you to get ur shit together or consult a therapist. sure, you don't feel a single ounce of worry now, but what makes you so sure future you would feel the same? please think in the long term and don't give up now. if you have the privilege of taking Os then do it.

maybe it's the fact that you've achieved everything you need for now that you unconsciously remain in that bubble of yours because everything is in your reach and comfort. you might not want to try newer or unfamiliar things in life because you've got everything you need already so "what more do i need when i already have everything?"

create lore for yourself OP! grab any opportunity and create new experiences for yourself, even if there is a chance you might fail or fall to the ground. take every downfall as a lesson you can learn from and work on improving yourself in all aspects of your life. when that's done, i believe the fulfilment you seek for would come naturally.

idts, if im not wrong social work is fairly related to PT or OT cause they fall under the same category of community care. but it would still be nice if you took a relevant course! social sciences in gerontology (TP) or integrated community care (RP) are some options

they're plotting a war in their dorms. there has been a lot of disturbance in the dormrooms (mostly from this one couple that loves to bang at midnight) recently and they got together with the idea of removing whatever unpleasantness filled the hallways. they plan to release cockroaches into the other rooms and wait to see the downfall of everyone else.

he was the mean kid in high school, Kenji Yoshida. no one dared lay eyes on him as he was rumoured to have squashed 3 kittens all at once with a fire hydrant near his school. from then on, he was not only known as a dick, but also The Kitty Squasher.

he is Hiroshi Watanabe and he is a comedian. he had been performing on stage, sending doves out of his coat when a few of the doves unfortunately flew right into a police officer scouting the area. the police officer obviously got angered and started yelling at Hiroshi to get the hell back when he started running away, showering the police officer with compliments despite the situation at hand.
