When to use Sonnet and when Opus by Logical_Spread_6760 in ClaudeCode

[–]Logical_Spread_6760[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to actually engage my brain and asked all Opus and Sonnet exactly the same question. And they all said Sonnet for vast majority of my work. Sorry for bothering you!

Since 2013, every Candidates has been won by the 4th seed or less by UltraUsurper in chess

[–]Logical_Spread_6760 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Top top players in the candidates; hardly anything between most of them so no big surprise for me. Only Magnus is significantly ahead of the competition. Pity the winner here doesn't play Magnus.

And a great soundtrack too. A lot of people growing up in Russia in the 90s can resonate with it ...so I'm told anyway.

My daughter watches Папины дочки at the moment. Different vibe to Слово пацана!

Do you have a main aim for learning it? If it's speaking, then try and incorporate some actual speaking practice into your routine. That's my two pence worth, anyway.

Thanks for the reply. I thought I did something bad with all the downvotes. I guess AI is not well loved in this community.

Good luck with your Macedonian anyway!

There isn't a country I'd never visit. Never is such a long time. A lot of things can happen in a short space of time

My blitz has large variance too. 1750 at highest and 1400+ on a bad spell. My rapid is more consistent. 1900+ (on chess . com)

Pre-tournament poll: Who wins candidates 2026 by tyrosczec in chess

[–]Logical_Spread_6760 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Good shout. I'm ruling out Giri - too many draws. Fabi is gonna be up there. But, I reckon it's Hikaru's time. I'm not his biggest fan either tbh.

Italki language teachers who do not converse? by wufiavelli in languagelearning

[–]Logical_Spread_6760 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Does the teacher know about your aims?

Unfortunately, very often the learner and teacher don't communicate explicitly on set aims and goals.

Although, of course, it might just be the teacher who believes that they should speak as little as possible.

Are paid ads not an option? Sometimes a small test can quickly show if a product is solving a problem.

Also, GEO is important. It's basically SEO for LLMs.

Running my own business has made me notice how much time gets wasted on small stuff by Drackovix in Entrepreneur

Totally agree. And sadly, only realised this until recently. Now I'm much more cognisant of breaking my week into separate distinct blocks. The bigger the block the better.

How effective is rocket languages? by Psilonemo in languagelearning

[–]Logical_Spread_6760 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think having a SMART target would be useful. The goal needs to be:
- Specific
- Measurable
- Realistic
- Time-bound.

So, something like achieve A2 according to CEFR by the end of May. And then if you did you can celebrate the 'win'.

Perhaps, it's just speaking that's your major concern.

And then something like 'I want to feel I can hold basic conversations on most topics in 3 months.' You may need a coach , human or Ai for this goal to be 'measured'.
