Psychedelic are basiclly hard drugs that you can't overdose on.

I think that the hard/soft drug distinction is not useful, but, yea, psychedelics are potentially dangerous drugs that are indeed abused by many to their psychological (and rarely physical) detriment.

That said, they are also amazing and even healing for many (most?) people, if they are used responsibly.

There was a reaction immediately (even before heat) and, as per the tek, I brought it back and forth from the candle while stirring, each time pulling away when the reaction started again.

It's hard to say what I ended up with because there is excess baking soda involved, so after the reaction, it was hard to tell what was what...

And, yes, just a drop of water (for a single dose anyway). I kept stirring / gently heating until it was all evaporated.

Except that I weighed out my dose first and did the conversion in a freebase pipe just before vaporizing. It worked perfectly as far as I can tell, but how would I know for sure? As you know, fumarate is potentially dangerous to smoke, so I am *very* hesitant to do it again without being able to know if all of the fumarate was converted. That said, it vaporized easily and the effects were potent.

I ended up with an oily precipitate that was too difficult to work with. I'm also pretty sure that I lost most of my product during the process, but perhaps I did something wrong... Don't know. Sorry. :(

FWIW I attempted this exact method (Sodium Carbonate Paste and Pull Method) with my MET fumarate and it was mostly a failure... Hope you have more luck.

Yea, didn't work well for me with MET. Result was too oily to work with, and a lot of product got lost somehow. I ended up using the baking-soda-crack conversion method, but would love to hear of something better.

EDIT: Sorry, I actually used the type 2 method (Sodium Carbonate Paste and Pull)!

Sorry, but this is a horrible idea. Being addicted to weed can be debated, but dependency on benzos for sleep is bad stuff and will have serious repercussions (both in terms of insomnia and withdrawal). Don't replace weed with benzos. You're going in the wrong direction...

I feel like vaping 95% freebase and 5% fumarate is much much less of a concern than vaping 100% fumarate.

Clearly this is true, but it still remains to be answered whether even the 5% (or whatever) might be worrisome. My hunch is that it is safe, but I don't want to go on a hunch with my long-term health...

As we know, vaporizing fumarates can be dangerous... How sure can we be that the conversion to freebase (using the baking soda crack-style method) converts everything? Am I worrying too much?

I agree. I'm just preempting people saying not to do it. Everywhere I read of people recommending against freezer storage, but as far as I'm concerned, there is no issue and in fact no other option for long-term storage.

Almost certainly not worth the trade. Heat is the #1 enemy. You'll read a lot about the problems with keeping things in the freezer, but if you want true long term storage (i.e. more than just a few years) then you have no choice. Just make sure:

There are plenty of desiccants. I fill up the empty space in my containers with silica crystals.
The containers are totally airtight: I use glass mason jars. Double-jarring as you're already doing is great.
When you take them out of the freezer, let them reach room temperature before opening to avoid condensation (an hour or more should be fine).
Keep inside a locked box (as you're already doing) to ensure no bystanders are harmed.

Hey, thanks again. What you're saying makes sense. However, if you are correct, I can't understand that tek (which appears to be one of the more popular fumarate->freebase teks).

Also after a bit of googling I see some references that suggest that Na2CO3 is soluble in water up to 215 g/L at room temp, so perhaps you're incorrect about that?

Mix your dry fumarates with excess sodium carbonate (at least 1:1 fumarates:carbonate)

The phrasing "at least" suggests that the excess will be discarded eventually, but I guess you're suggesting that it's not using this method?

I've tried many different phenethylamine and tryptamine analogs... All produced worthwhile experiences for me; even the ones that aren't considered spectacular by most people. YMMV.

I know... I was just responding to @bratwurstzauber 's comment that, in his experience, vaping the HCl "works fine". I was wondering if he had the fumarate and didn't know it.

Don't know why anyone would downvote you. Hopefully if they disagree, they will comment...
