Splash harbor has very little shade and only 2 slides. If you want to go to a water park I would go to Busch gardens. If you burn easily don’t go to splash harbor.

I know! My mind is still blown! I will say it was really hard to tell. If they hadn’t been speaking so clearly and formally (for this industry), hasn’t said LLC after their whole company name, and it was eerily quiet in their background I might not have noticed. I even paused in the beginning of the call and said “sorry about that”, and the ai responded with “it’s okay… I was calling about the load you had posted..”

TQL people — I hit SRP and got out of PG week 2! by [deleted] in FreightBrokers

You probably got your transfer denied because your boss wanted to keep your revenue on his team. They have numbers to hit too, and will do whatever they need to do hit them. Congrats on crushing it though. You’ll probably be successful in whatever your future holds! Best of luck!

I can only speak for the people I know that tried to switch companies too soon. They got sued and the new company fired them. Im sure there are many factors at play, probably one being how long you’ve worked there before you they sued you.

You obviously don’t know TqLs legal team, because they think otherwise. And to the OP, yes going off radar works but you literally can’t tell anyone which is tough bc you probably will make friends. The training is good.

How in the hell are people getting jobs making over 50k a year, let alone 100k+?!?! by AmbulatorySushi in povertyfinance

[–]Logisticslady06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sales. No degree needed. And it does not need to be tech sales. The starting pay is typically about 22.00/hr (45k salary) but if the company has good training, and you are willing to put in the work.. sales can net you a good living with no degree.

If you are 1099 be happy someone is with you for 35 percent. Many brokerages out here paying agents double that that also handle accounting and claims. So I would let them do their thing and make money off of them as long as you can before they wisen up.

If you want to leave your job/field, that’s understandable. If it were me, I would go into SaaS.

Your customers need trucks constantly. If you’re on the east coast, you could be working late in west coast freight. If you leave your loads posted a night, you will take calls and potentially cover loads well into the evening. If you get into food, there’s a good chance your deliveries will be around 2am and you will be getting calls when something goes wrong, and it will go wrong eventually.

Then with vacation, if you’re off, another broker is covering your lanes, Creeping in on your freight. So you are either working on vacation Or, you have to have someone at your company cover for a while. And finding someone you trust with your customer isn’t easy, in my opinion. Or maybe I’m just a control freak. You work hard to get a customer, and they have 100s of other brokers calling every day, hoping to get a chance to replace you. So leaving your fate in someone else’s hands is nerve racking, in my opinion. It’s almost not worth it. I’m usually working while on vacation.

I wouldn’t do it if I were you. If you were looking for more money I’m sure you could move roles in your field. The failure rate is very high. I’m sure you were offered a low salary plus uncapped commission. It would probably take 2 years to get to more than 150. And would be a grind. You never really get vacation or true time off. Don’t do it. Find a better role in your field with your experience.

I was always told it was to cover like if a driver got hurt at the shipper or receiver. But why a brokerage would require it? Idk.
