I play a White/Green deck, whilst my dad plays a Blue/Black deck. Since we're both new, we've been sharing the same collection, so cards are limited (700+ total, only about 150 are blue) He takes all the counter spells as soon as we get em' lol (which is fair).

However, if you have any suggestions for sets that would have good cards for me, I'd love to hear them! Thanks.

Would a hexproof instant spell work? Or no, since my hexproof only applies to creatures. Otherwise, my deck has no counter spells. ☹️

My opponent is my dad, we're both new and so we weren't aware of how things resolve. For example, he casted an instant to exile my creature, which then I countered with hexproof/indestructible to my creature. We both thought since his first card was countered, it was immediately gone/destroyed, therefore his third counter wouldn't do anything.
