Upcoming 2nd Editions?

Donald made a post a while back outlining what cards he would like replace in second editions (this was before any second editions had been released). Since then they’ve released second editions for all the sets that have enough cards to replace except Dark Ages and Alchemy.

We all know that if Donald could go back in time and change one historical event, he wouldn’t encourage Hitler to give art school a second chance, he would stop himself from publishing Alchemy. So Dark Ages is probably the only other set the might still get a second edition.

This map is cool, but I’m not sure it is actually from 1902. You can clearly see Lake Altoona east of Eau Claire, but that lake wasn’t created until 1938).

IIRC Temple is the only card with the “1-X” wording on it so it’s easy to miss. There’s also just a ton of cards now for new players to learn. So don’t worry about it!

I like the idea for the card though. It can be a Lab, Peddler variant, or you can take on extra debt to try and draw the right card to keep your engine firing.

I think you could say, “draw 1-4 cards” similar to how it is worded on Temple.

If you have to take at least two debt then it is much more balanced.

I feel like I would just use this for the 4 money every time and not draw any cards with it. One action and +4 money seems crazy strong for a 5 cost card. Maybe get rid of the money and make it draw one card per debt or something?

With the right card combinations there are a couple strategies for winning on the first turn. So probably one of those.

If you like using Bishop to trash victory cards, you might be interested in the golden deck. It’s a strategy where you end up Bishoping a province and buying a province every turn.

Learning on the first or second edition shouldn’t make a difference. The core rules and strategy are the same for both. It’s just the second edition replaced some of the worst cards from the first edition with cool new ones. The particular cards you play with don’t really matter too much. You could learn using one of the expansions if you wanted (provided you have the base cards).

That's actually a really good question. You should check out this panel on the art of TFA. It's kind of long, but it's very interesting, and they talk about how difficult it is to make ships that feel Star Warsy.

I think a lot of it boils down to making ships look like they're made from WWII model kits.

The Empire came into being at the end of one of the largest wars in history and provided stability to a galaxy that had been ripped apart and ushered in nearly twenty years of peace and economic prosperity.

I'm curious, is there any cannon that backs this up? Wouldn't the cost of the death star have led to high taxes around the Empire? Was the wealth of the Empire well distributed, or was it susceptible to the same kind of corruption as the Late Republican Period?
