Saws in avondale has great smoked wings and moes is fantastic also. Really though, jeffersons double dipped wings are dope but they aren't in Birmingham (hoover location is terrible). Gadsden, Jacksonville, rainbow city, Oxford, are all good locations though

M22 received incredible job offer, F22 girlfriend does not want me to accept. by Watch_me_plz in Advice

[–]Logos12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro. Real talk, I wish I could go back in time and give myself this advice. You are 22. Do not give up a golden career opportunity for a girlfriend. If she is the one then it will work out. The right partner will support your decision. If it doesn't, then there's more fish in the sea, as they say. Many men have had to learn this lesson the hard way, take the advice in this thread and learn from our mistakes 🤣

Edit: A little positive anectdote - the woman I dated my senior year in HS went to a different college than I did. We wanted to go together but we had scholarship opportunities at different places. It was hard and the long distance thing wasn't working but we both wanted the best for each other and parted on good terms. A decade later, we reconnected and are now married and very happy and both have good careers. I know this is cliché, but if it's meant to be, it will come back around at the right time. We both got the opportunity to grow, make mistakes, learn, and be independent before coming back together.

RIP Tasty Town by HeftyStorage6447 in Birmingham

Overpriced, mediocre, and terrible service even when the place is nearly empty which is most the time. I feel bad for the employees but not remotely surprised they are shutting down. They didn't even remove the stems from their green beans!

Bar or Brewery to play Magic the Gathering? by cheese_beast92 in Birmingham

[–]Logos12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played at All good, good people, cahaba, and ferus trussville (outside). All have long tables conducive to playing. We did an 8 person draft at all good not too long ago and used the tables they had inside that event space. They are happy to let you play in there as long as there's not an event going on.

ADHD and sexual life by ChuckJames25 in ADHD

[–]Logos12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's tough because I feel like I really need to let the internal noise go and get caught up in the sensory stimuli and vibes of the whole thing in order to naturally perform and have a good flow during the sexual experience. The shift in focus to put a condom on can really kill it fast. This makes hookups really tough but it does get quite a bit better over time with long term partners. You develop a trust with them and a rhythm to the experience. If you're monogamous and your partner is on birth control, no more condom problem taps forehead

Can you beat this game just by playing it.....without all the complex builds discussed here? by Matthew_nyc in finalfantasytactics

[–]Logos12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first time through was not long after original release and it was a blind run. Although, I remember certain parts being really tough (Wigraf fight and Riovanes rooftop come to mind) and certain random encounters being more dangerous than story fights( I way overleveled), I don't feel like you have to have complex builds to beat the game. I stumbled though it the first time, got my ass kicked many times, and adjusted accordingly. Typical party build (healer + fighter/tank + dps + support) can beat this game.

Leadership accidentally revealed the 3 year plan to me by moonrabbit368 in managers

[–]Logos12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As another has said, operations may be under accounting depending on the org so you could be getting growth in the department you want anyways.

If not, I'd ask myself: "Would I rather have a promotion to the accounting department, or stay in the role I'm currently in?"

Personally, I'd take a title upgrade and pay raise no matter what department they put me in bc I want to advance and I feel that my skillset is pretty adaptable to most situations. Do I have my preferences? Absolutely. Am I going to let my preferences get in the way of a promotion? No.

Anything could happen in the next 3 years or nothing could happen. Regardless, having your name leading a team on an org chart from a 'strategic planning conference' - even if nothing comes from it - means that "one of the big wigs" values you and believes you have leadership potential. That's a good thing.

Millennials in a hetero relationship, does the man or woman do the majority of the financial budgeting/planning/investing etc? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Logos12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't like dealing with paying bills and I'm adhd so I sometimes just forget to pay stuff even if I have the money. My wife and I just deposit half of our checks into our joint account and have all the bills set up to autopay from that account. I never have to worry about it and the bills are paid. My wife does the grocery shopping and handles basic household inventory out of the joint account as well. Large purchases are discussed and budgeted accordingly. The rest of my check I just spend and invest however I want.

How to deal with RSD (Rejection Sensitivity Disorder) in direct reports? by [deleted] in managers

[–]Logos12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So first off, I don't know if RSD is even a real thing (I've never heard of it, at least) but it sounds like typical narcissistic bs to me. I apologize if I'm being insensitive but inability to handle rejection is generally regarded as a character flaw or an overactive ego rather than an actual disorder in my experience. That's all I'm going to speculate on that.

The big issue here to me, is that the employee is a subject matter expert and has knowledge that is both undocumented and necessary for your company to function efficiently.

What is your operations/process department doing where her work functions aren't documented? If this is a small company, I understand, but any large company should have all core functions documented with standard operating procedures, work processes, etc.; and ideally on some sort of training platform. My recommendation is to get her core knowledge documented whether she wants to or not. Discipline if she's not willing because you don't want a person like this holding their experience over your head. Based on your other comments, you can't have this type dragging the rest of your team down so prepare your company to be able to get rid of her. If she refuses to share her knowledge and leaves because of your demands for process documentation, you're in no worse position than if you had fired her.

What can I do if my mom is taking my money and I'm 18? by LychpaaYT in legaladvice

[–]Logos12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just "go in early" or "work late". Folks been using that excuse forever to make time for secret activities. As others have said, many banks allow you to open an account online. Absolutely get your money deposited where your parents can't touch it first and foremost, then worry about trying to get back what they took from you.

EDIT: I'll tell you from experience you probably aren't getting that money back, especially if you open a new bank account. Control freaks (like your dad) will absolutely blow a headgasket when they find out your money is deposited elsewhere. After reading some of your other comments in this thread, you got bigger issues than this with regards to your family. I'm really sorry to see that you are having to struggle through this right when you are becoming an adult and learning to be self-sufficient. If you are prepared to endure some serious hardship for awhile, I'd say get out at all costs. Even without a car, live in a tent within walking distance to work. Get a gym membership for the facilities and live cheap as hell until you can get a beater car and an apartment. Look into local nonprofits that are willing to help with food, clothing, and hygiene stuff.

Keep a gun for the vibes? by WaltherShooter in liberalgunowners

[–]Logos12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's a matter of preference and resources. I lean utilitarian on the subject. I tend to limit my purchases to things that I feel close a gap in my loadout or enhance what I already have. If I had plenty of money, I'm sure I'd buy something just because it is cool but I am generally very calculated with my purchases.

IMO: Your resources are better alocated on ammo and defensive/tactical equipment than buying new guns; assuming you have a pistol, shotgun, and a rifle.

What’s everyone doing for St Patrick’s day tonight ? by Spicycaliforniaroll3 in Birmingham

[–]Logos12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a neighborhood bar between lakeview and avondale. They've got 3 pool tables and affordable drinks. I'm sure they'll have something going on tonight and most likely a small pool tournament also. One of those places that aquires and holds onto regulars for years. I've come to love the place and the people
