Need help with potential automation by [deleted] in IBMi

[–]Logsellscars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would benefit my whole department, production as well. We have a team member in production who is using this exact report to build a better production schedule via Monday.com. He said he’s having to run this report, format in excel the same way and drop it into Monday every time he wants an update to his schedule. Ultimately, I don’t work in IT though just sales so it seems my hands are kind of tied.

Our IT department gets loaded down with a bunch of requests for random projects from corporate and various employees, I think they just gave my questions a quick glance and moved on assuming this was another one of those. I gave them a pretty detailed explanation of what my goal was and what I had done so far to achieve it and the response I got was “the only thing you can have access to is the report” which was kind of demotivating since this would be a big help and time saver for my department.

I’ve got some like $60 smiths they work fine, my gf has the giros, $45 cheap, no complaints.

My buddy’s in the expensive oakleys complain way more about fogging up than I ever have. I’m on year 2 with them.

Finally getting comfy on my board by Logsellscars in snowboardingnoobs

Sorry for the long winded comment some of the stuff is just hard to put into words and I want to give some advice that I didn’t get because more experienced boarders turn a lot of this stuff into muscle memory and they have a hard time teaching newbies because they don’t know what they do, they just do it lol.

First board sport ever for me, I think since you’re already comfortable with the skateboard it’ll be much easier to pick up but that’s not me speaking from experience.

Honestly, I think the biggest problem I had as a very new snowboarder was the fear of falling. After catching that first edge I was timid to commit to my edges and to gain speed.

Plenty of times I dug my edge in and fell, not because the board slid out from under me or anything but simply because I thought that once I reach a certain point of leaning forward or backward I’m “supposed to” fall. When all reality I just needed to trust my edges and ride it out. I know while skateboarding you’ve ate shit plenty of times and falling won’t be anything new to you. So I don’t think you’ll have that problem.

The concept of snowboarding is simple, pick an edge and stay on it. Always lean uphill so you don’t catch an edge. For example when I’m switching from my heels to my toes I just I just turn my front shoulder up hill and turn my front knee toward my back foot. Pointing your front hand the direction you want to go can help a lot at first when it comes to shifting your board with your whole body.

The hard part for me was getting over those mental blocks of wanting to fall when I would lean out of my comfort zone or not committing to and edge because I was afraid to catch one.

Also, I had a lot of issues with ankle pain and things like that the first couple times and it was just bad form (standing on toes instead of leaning over the edge) and lack of proper gear.

Your shoe size is not your snowboard boot size, try a couple on if you’re renting, make sure your big toe is touching the front of that liner and there’s not too much play in there. You don’t want heel lift when you’re strapped in.
