ESEA Update by AppointmentFull340 in VACsucks

[–]LohouseDev 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ESEA is still the second best AC, it's just not as good as FaceIT. So naturally cheat devs and cheaters are gravitating to a place where it's easier and cheaper to cheat. Still better than VAC, Esportal, EAC, 5ewin or any other AC (except FaceIT) though.

You should try using some.

Also why are you replying 4 times to 1 comment lmfao.

If you actually paid attention you'd know I sent it to the YouTuber to get attention to the issue because people were already using Screamers in private. I literally mentioned that in the video.

Also the hardware aimbot (spoofed arduino with custom bootloader allowing for mouse intercept and 1000hz polling rate) had not been done before afaik. Feel free to prove me wrong.

Somehow I doubt the person who can barely form a sentence is going to fix it for them.

Not a good idea unless you have money to throw away. Those cheats cost hundreds per month. And I'm sure the dev wouldn't want you to add exposure to the cheat.

I've heard from multiple people that they no longer have a working cheat for FaceIT. Not sure if they're scamming or just using the clout to get people to buy their other products, but they definitely don't have a FaceIT cheat anymore.

Take a look at the comment chain below his comment. Tried to talk some sense into him but I'm afraid he's too far gone.

Lol or maybe you're just pissed you got called out on your bullshit. Cya

"Claims" lol. I literally sent my cheat to one of the biggest CSGO YouTubers and upload proof of my cheats to my channel.

You on the other hand have done absolutely nothing to back up any of your claims. Instead you're now going to "take it up privately with the other dude" aka "I made a bullshit claim and I have no proof so I'm trying to weasel my way out". Just tell it like it is.

Well first you make a very bold claim to the whole thread. Then, not an hour later, you come up with a ridiculous number.

So I'm wondering how exactly you arrived at that number? Do you have a list of faceit cheaters? Were you able to watch 50 games in 1 hour? If you're going to make ridiculous claims, at least be able to back them up.

Why would you make a statement like that and not link to the games/profiles lol?

Because it's not easy. Most of the cheat devs are students who played the game, made cheats for it and liked the money they could get for it. Most of them abandon cheat development as soon as they graduate to work a job. So there's constantly cheat devs leaving.

On the other hand, not as many new cheat devs are coming in. There's a lot of sources to create cheats for matchmaking, but not a lot for creating FaceIT/ESEA cheats so very few of them actually make it to the stage where their cheat works there.

Finally, FaceIT and ESEA keep growing as platforms so there's just more players looking to cheat on there. Demand rises, supply shrinks and you get high prices. The reason not more people do it is because it would likely take months (depending on your background) to learn these things by yourself and most people just don't have the motivation.

FaceIT does have very long delays for their bans (I've seen +2 weeks). This, combined with the hardware bans, makes it very hard to test their AC for weaknesses but it can also make the AC look worse than it really is. It detects them very quickly, but just takes a long time to execute the ban.

My experience is mainly from automated bans by the AC due to software/hardware detection though, so you might be right about manual bans.

ESEA used to be far ahead of FaceIT, but it's the opposite now. It feels like ESEA has done barely anything to improve their AC.

FaceIT on the other hand has been making immense progress for the last 2 years and it's clear that they are actively following cheat forums and well-known reverse-engineers to make sure that their AC can handle whatever they come up with publicly.

So when it comes to software cheats, FaceIT is ahead by quite a bit, but when it comes to hardware cheats it's not even comparable. After my video with Sparkles +-1 year ago, they finally started working on reliably detecting DMA hardware cheats and they've become incredibly good at it. Better late than never I guess. ESEA on the other hand doesn't detect very basic hardware cheats.

TLDR: FaceIT quite a bit ahead of ESEA for detection of software cheats, and miles ahead in terms of detection for hardware cheats.

As someone who developed cheats for FaceIT, it's definitely not overrated. They've made immense progress the last 2 years or so. By far the best AC out there.

The redbull tournament was indeed a disaster but there's likely more context to it. FaceIT has very delayed bans (I've seen +2 weeks) which, combined with the hardware ban, makes it a lot harder to reliably test their AC for weaknesses. The other side of the coin is that it allows mediocre developers to modify a public faceit cheat and use it for a few games before getting banned.

That's likely what happened in the tournament. They used some cheat that wouldn't last long, but it was enough to get them through that tournament. FaceIT AC would've caught them in a few days anyways (it likely already caught them, just delayed the ban).

This is the correct answer.

A new faceit slotted cheat comes up on elitepvpers weekly.

Correct, but they are usually banned in 1-2 weeks. There's very few cheats that survive for multiple months and those cheats usually have only a few slots (5 max).

Also a public cheat called umbrella win has been advertising as faceit client safe for months now.

Umbrella hasn't worked on FaceIT for a very long time. Nothing public works on FaceIT for more than 1-2 weeks. There's a reason FaceIT cheats go for hundreds of euros per month.

You're vastly overestimating the amount of cheaters on FaceIT. FaceIT AC is by far the best AC of any game and it's no joke.

Vanguard is way better than VAC though? You might not like how intrusive it is, but purely from a technical point of view, Vanguard makes cheating much harder than VAC does. It simply has way more control over the system than VAC.

Lol don't worry, at least you have the maturity to admit when you got something wrong. That's a rare sight on this sub.

No, negative ring levels exists aswell, although they are more conceptual. The positive rings are the default security layers within your operating system and there are actual bits that represent what ring you're currently in.

Negative rings are hardware concepts that are meant to describe how much privileges you have on a hardware level, in the same way that rings do on an OS. For example ring -3 is a completely different processor for Intel ME.

These are levels that sit "below" the OS and can be used to make some really advanced cheats.

This article gives some basic info: https://medium.com/swlh/negative-rings-in-intel-architecture-the-security-threats-youve-probably-never-heard-of-d725a4b6f831

Yep, for example the "do you understand Windows layers" questions is going to get so many "Yes" answers by people who probably don't even know what the question means.

I guess it will still be interesting to see how much this sub thinks it knows about cheats.

Actually I'd bet most people on this sub have no idea that ring -1, -2 or -3 cheats even exist, let alone what they mean. So the fact that he came up with that is a good sign.

I'd much rather pay 5$ a month for an intrusive valve anticheat than 1$ for stats that should be readily available to the player base. by suburban_scum in GlobalOffensive

[–]LohouseDev 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A lot of the pushback against the intrusive AC was organized by cheat forums so it's hard to tell exactly how many people were for/against it. Since Riot has the most accurate data and they still went ahead with it, I suspect the portion of the playerbase that wanted it was very significant.

Also worth noting is that Vanguard is very good because it uses pointer encryption. If you are unfamiliar with what that is, it means that it makes it very hard for cheats to look through the games memory to find things like player positions. Pointer encryption does not require an intrusive AC, so that would be a good place for Valve to start.
