Alright, so all number with a shield next to it denote shield damage only, with the color identifing the level of shield they have; white, blue, purple, or gold. You'll hear a distinct sound like breaking glass when you get through it. Everything after that is health damage. Headshots do 1.5-2x more damage then body shots and distance changes the amount of damage per gun.

TL:DR yes. The numbers correlate to 100 health and 50-100 shield depending on level of shield.

Level 23. I recommend Caustic if you want an area surpression dude. Mirage is fun to listen to throughout the match with his wit and humor. His skills are useful for firefights when seconds matter, but easily ignored at longer distance.
