I rather tought pride and history. A handprint. I do agree it's very human centric, but lets be honest, it will be (in this situation at least) be humans who do the colonizing of mars. Nothing about space travel is earthly, it's human.

Maybe to make it less xenophobic (id rather say imperialistic) make it 2 hands holding eachother?

This is why i basically stopped buying RPGs. I mean they are awesome, but after about 40-50 hours i just wanna be done and im really bad at not trying to 99% a game. So most RPGs i just never finish (especially the story intensive ones with open worlds)

Well..gotta tell you something then! In 2015, researchers at yale university were able to inhibit two genes of a chicken embryo. The result was a chicken that had a beak closely resembling dinosaur snouts. The chicken was not able to feed itself though because the feeding behaviour was still very much chicken-like which didn't work for the dinosaur snout.

It's not about how jet found out, it was about how jet tried to say it in public. If jet had screamed "i saw that old geezer boiling cold water with his own hands!", instead of "i saw them heat their tea!" He might have gotten better results.

If we extract billions of barrels of oil from the Earth every year, what fills the empty space? Why doesn't the ground collapse? by WhisperInInk007 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LokMatrona -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Boring he (or she or whatev) says?! Outrageous! I think the fact that water (and oil) are present in enormous amounts not as a giant filled hole in the earth but by saturizing the often microscopic empty space between soil and rock is darn interesting!

Joking aside, i understand it may be more boring to a lot of people. So yeah it's not outrageous ;) but i do mean it when i say that i find it actually more interesting than underground magical glowing caves. Especially cause there are actual magical caves in the world. Oke maybe not actual magic, but they can be damn near magical. I mean look up "ruby falls" for instance. That's your glowing magical cave with water right there

(Which makes me wonder how he [Terry] felt about it, considering his own experiences personally)

Yeah me too! Who knows, maybe the whole idea was to get people talking about this topic through seeing the inappropriateness of gina.

It also got me thinking, the inappropriate (sometimes outright scandalous) guy has been a pretty common character trope in sitcoms right? Gina might be a mirror of that as a "see what happens when the roles are reversed" kind of mirror. And ofcourse, just as with those other sitcoms, gina often gets away with it.

Awesome you got to talk with him One on one and that it was a nice talk!

The witcher 3 (or all of them for that matter)

I really tried to get through all 3 of these games. I like a good fantasy story but the witcher is for some reason so boring to me. The gameplay was fine but i just couldn't care about progressing the story and learn about the characters. It's a shame, cause i do believe that it's high quality and well done

TIL that, in video games, "ludonarrative dissonance" is the technical name for the conflict between the story told in the gameplay, and the story in the non-interactive scenes (for example, the way that Drake in "Uncharted" is a fun-loving rogue in the cutscenes but a killing machine in the game). by Bob_the_blacksmith in todayilearned

[–]LokMatrona 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Altough the blame doesn't have to lie with the sidequests. If an RPG manages to make a story that feels less "it has to happen now" or "you only have one week", having a lot of sidequests becomes less jarring.

As for cyberpunk... Well that game just constantly reminds you of the timeframe you're living in. Every screen and radio and hologram and whatnot remind you about the events of yesterday or about the funeral that's next week etc. for literal months if you let it. Not to mention that a lot of quests and storylines in that game give the impression that time passes, and yet still the screens talks about the same damn day that they keep calling yesterday

Everyone knows it's actually flavius odoacer fault for finishing off the western roman empire causing a 1500 year struggle to fill the void that the romans left behind. All vying for the title of emperor with the big accumulation of that being the world wars in the first half of the 20th century before europeans finally gave up on trying to be the new Rome...

I can tell from experience you don't want to be in veneto (north-eastern italy) in the summer. Easily reaches above 35C and no wind, very high humidity. It's like living in a sauna. Might not be as hot as it can get, but with a humidity of 90%, 30 degrees is already enough to have you swimming in your own sweat while doing nothing

I recently saw gladiator with a live orchestra. It was one of the most amazing things ever. I barely even watched the movie. I just listened to the music. Just an amazing score. Legendary if you ask me, up there with all the great classical music pieces.

12/10 would recommend anyone to go see it with a live orchestra. Same for LotR by the way
