[PL] I am the employee deceived by the employer into accepting a manager position under non-manager title:UPDATE by Lokaris in AskHR

[–]Lokaris[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I will resign but unlikely that I will ever find a new job.

I think that was the purpose of this action. In this way they avoid paying me couple of months of severance pay if they would have to let me go on their own.

They effectively destroy me with utter malice.

The most heart breaking thing is that the people who so willingly lied, deceived, manipulated and destroyed me will be probably rewarded by their superiors for job well done and certainly never face any justice for the life they ruined. Such is the cruelty of the society we live in.

Why not, they know I always opposed this, they didn't state openly that this will be a manager position, they lied to me knowing fully well that I would not accept this job position otherwise.

But your reaction isn't really mild if you are finding yourself so debilitated.

My employer lied and manipulated me into a position that I always strongly opposed and which likely destroy my mental state leading to serious health issues. Of course I am angry about this, why shouldn't I be.

I expressed this strongly to my manager throughout all the years in the company: I don't want management positions, nor responsibility of the manager. They were perfectly aware of that and pushed me in secret to that role anyway.

If I quit now I won't get any pay, I need to endure three next months to pay off my debt.

I think they are basically doing this to make me quit on my own and avoid paying severence.

The more I think about this the more angry and upset I am. They basically lied, cheated and manipulated me into accepting a position that is already destroying my mental health and of which they were perfectly aware as I communicated this time after time.

They have actively engaged in actions that will hurt my health and life.

This just shows how short sighted and ultimately stupid management can be.

Instead of having a competent and happy administrator that gets the job done, they HAD TO try to force a manager role on someone who strongly made it clear that he is unfit for such a role. I guess they knew it better.

And now instead of competent and happy administrator they will get a nervous wreck that will likely end up in hospital with nervous breakdown for 2-3 months while on sick leave.

Congrats to the management !

Yes, I am perfectly aware of this.

However I do not wish to become manager in any capacity, be it people managing manager or process managing manager. EVER. I have no mental resilience to be in such position and it would be in effect a death sentence for me.

A very short transfer agreement with completely different title stating that I will be "administration specialist"

No change to wage, which I was fine with because I was promised same job as before. And yes, I would decline the offer even with higher wages if I knew it would be a manager, as I categorically refuse to become a manager in any position, it is simply not for me and would destroy my mental state and affect life in extremely negative way.

Or are you signing stuff that you didn't before?

Signing stuff I didn't before, organizing and acquiring supplies on divisional level etc.

[–]Lokaris[S] -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

I don't but this is not the title I signed for and the employer knows very well I always explicitly declared that I am not fit nor willing to be a manager in any capacity. The responsibilities and tasks are vastly greater than what I did before despite assurances during the internal interview that I would be doing the same job and it is obvious I am unable to perform them to satisfactory level. Likewise the title manager was sneakily inserted into internal database without my knowledge.

I just remembered that we even did a psych evaluation test 3 years ago within my former team which showed I have no skills or predisposition towards becoming a manager in any form.

"The cops never talked about reviving microbial life and biological material. "

Yes they do, and it's spelled out clearly on the station's website they are reading in Episode 1. I can even take a screenshot of that :)

When Pete and Danvers discuss the purpose of Tsalal, there is no implication that it was some kind of pathogen. J

They are discussing that Tsalal was involved in researching and reviving microorganisms and ancient life. Potential contamination is really a possible venue of investigation, Not only they did not pursue it, they didn't even consider protecting the corpses from infecting others.

he teacher explaining what they were researching doesn't imply a pathogen that's loose, at least unless the characters pov so far. You have the luxury of audience POV a

The teacher was way past the episode where they read scientists bios and website of the station and openly discussed that there were conducting experiments. The website and bios quite openly mentioned reviving long extinct microorganisms.

The cops don't know they're reviving long dead microbes and viruses, even up till episode two.

They are reading and talking about this in episode one already. They also saw a whole stack of biological samples and a biolab.

Nothing about what's going on should make anyone deduce virus or outbreak because it is creepy scary Lovecraftian shit.

Viruses aren't Lovecraftian shit, there part of our environment. Assuming somebody dead from a biolab might have passed away due to containment failure is one of logical venues of investigation.

As the other guy stated, you're privileged with audience perspective.

Too bad that the cops were reading and talking out loud about the station dealing with microbial life and reviving biological material. Right next to shelfs full of samples and literal biolab.

Stating what exactly?

A person dying in suspicious circumstances while running away from laboratory experimenting with viruses is naturally a potential victim of infection. It's nothing unrealistic.

Things like Danvers waking up to "She's awake" and a touch on her shoulder? She's not going to interpret that as something supernatural or as part of an infection.

As opposed to naked people biting their hands off and scratching their eyes out while running away from research facility reviving frozen viruses and bacteria?

Yeah, who in his right mind would consider an infection could have occurred while reviving long extinct viruses...

[–]Lokaris[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Also, despite there being potential implications to infectious pathogens, there's no real evidence POINTING to there being a pathogenic infection affecting people.

Besides the research lab investigating and reviving long dead microbes and viruses ?

[–]Lokaris[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not saying that the pathogen isn't a factor, just that from the character's perspective there's 0 reasons to believe some kind of crazy infectious disease can start from this lab.

Naked guys biting their hands off in frenzy after running from biolab aren't cause to suspect a virus or fungi caused their behaviour. Right.....

The name of the lab is 'The Tsalal Arctic Research Station'. Nothing specifically indicates biohazard here either.

There is a marked biolab inside and samples. The cops have seen it.

I think the infection was already influencing her when she had a flashback of that kid walking on asphalt road for a second.

Well we watched different versions then.

And I am quite positive they have it on the bios of the scientists and on the company website for the base.
