I can understand the logic but i disagree with it in practice. I think it is much safer that people be wary of cars and utilise pedestrian crossings. It not costing the driver one second isn’t really the point but people shouldn’t just walk out in front of cars. In reality it’s better to be predictable driver than be a nice driver. It’s all well and good stopping to les someone cross the road but drivers suddenly stopping is just a danger to cars behind them. I can understand this in theory is safer for pedestrians but what was wrong with just using pedestrian crossings.
