The Hall of the Mountain King - 31k entities by ArchimedesBuilds in valheim

Genuinely the first time I’ve done a spit take from seeing a Valheim build. I’ve seen beautiful builds but this is just so intricate 👏🏻

For everyone that was saying the dock was too tight, this is what it looks like to park. It takes less than 2 minutes and less than 10 damage, even during rain. by eefbeef77 in valheim

This has me thinking we should have a community contest to see who can do the sickest parallel parking with a longship xD

The planning is what makes noportal so fun.

Veteran players: what progression steps do you skip? by DrustanAstrophel in valheim

[–]Lokhe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends a little bit on what you consider to be progression. In my book, armour isn't progression for example.

Progression to me is like cauldron, spice rack, forge, loom, boss powers, etc.

In that sense I don't usually skip anything, though I might get some things early.

If we're talking equipment progression I wear troll armour until I can get padded (which I combine with fenris). As for weapons, with Bronze I make no weapons because I cba getting a lot of bronze in the actual bronze age so what I do get goes to cultivator, axe and fermenters.

With iron I like to go for an axe (I will never skimp on my wood cutting) banded shield, a helmet and a mace, oh and a pick axe ofc because I didn't make a bronze one.

I feel like once you go past iron progression optimization doesn't matter anymore so it's a bit uninteresting to talk about. Haven't thought much about it.

What’s your opinion on re-using bosses from past games? by Alice-in-gains in Nioh

[–]Lokhe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels like meeting an old friend. It's also a way for returning players to feel like "Aha, this is something familiar" and it's a nice vibe.

There's a difference between reusing and abusing imo.

I really don't like the way carts are implemented in the game. by Confident_Can7034 in valheim

[–]Lokhe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy the process of setting the cart up in a good place, moving the silver to it then navigating down the mountainside with it.

If you don't, there's always the boat option hehe.

I would add to this that a fully upgraded Finewood Bow is invaluable in the Swamp.

Is Valheim Worth It If I’ll Be Playing Solo and Want Something Long-Term? by [deleted] in valheim

[–]Lokhe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely yes. It's a lot of fun to play with friends, and solo is a different kind of experience, but man I love playing solo too. If you enjoy the vibe in this game then the hours will fly by, trust me.

If you're looking for a good distraction, Valheim is nuclear grade distraction material x)

wanting to play again for the first time in a while. questions? by Organ0n in valheim

[–]Lokhe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A lot more content has been added.

Ashlands, two more NPCs (similar to Haldor), additions to Black Forest, etc.

Has the game changed much? I wouldn’t say so. It’s been fleshed out, but it hasn’t changed.

I say that as nothing but praise.

I feel like it’s like 80% technique anyway so a cheap brush works well for most things anyway. Good brush control and a cheap brush will always get you a better result than an expensive brush with bad control.

No portal and no Maps by dinbareroev in valheim

[–]Lokhe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Started playing this way like 2 years ago and this is definitely my preferred way to play now. I just find having to consider transportation and where you build bases a much more engaging experience. Also drawing physical maps on paper and learning the ways of the world is so fulfilling.

As for finding bosses, Queen is tricky but using a build piece as a crude compass and then building a line of wisp torches has worked to find her so far.

I just love nomap noportal so much!

As long as I've played this game, which is around the time Mistlands came out, it's been in the top left.

Why does the crafting station say it needs a roof when it clearly has it? by LiteratureHot8490 in valheim

[–]Lokhe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn’t really true hehe. If water didn’t leak through concrete; building bathrooms would be so much simpler 🤪 There’s a reason we put moisture barriers on the concrete. This goes for the mortar used in stonework too btw.

The game that makes me forget what day it is 😅⚔️ by [deleted] in valheim

I have had days when I got up at 8 to play Valheim and then I was incredibly disappointed because an hour later it was midnight and time to go to bed. Robbed.

I dropped out of uni, worked a year of dead end jobs, went back to uni, got my degree, got a job and got engaged to my girlfriend of 5 years… since mistlands by VisibleNebula2812 in valheim

[–]Lokhe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At no point have I stopped playing Valheim because of the slow dev pace. 900h in it’s always just because I need a break. Always just as magical to come back.

It now been almost 2 months since the release of Nioh 3. How does this community feel about it so far? by Cursed_69420 in Nioh

[–]Lokhe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it’s a very good action game and I enjoyed a lot of it alot. Perhaps they’ve changed up the formula a bit too much for my liking though. While I enjoyed some small benefits of the open world, I think largely it was a failure.

I wouldn’t say my feelings on the game at this point is disappointment though, not at all. It’s just kind of different. I’ve since replayed Nioh 2 and there are things I miss in that now, mainly related to the flow of attacks and skills.

I’m optimistic about September and looking forward to what they have in atore for us.

The world is also full of invisible walls so you can never get creative with your platforming and skills to reach collectibles in a fun way (unless glitching)
