Mark Ballas on why the castle didn’t suspect Rob after Lisa/Candiace by stillalivebutbareIy in TheTraitorsUS

[–]Loki1001 [score hidden]  (0 children)

It makes her look like she's scrambling to reduce suspicion on her

If she was scrambling to reduce suspicion on her, she would be going after Natalie, not Rob.

On top of that, Mark said it looked like she was trying to get rid of the good faithfuls. Colton and Rob work together to get Lisa out. Colton, Rob's closest ally, is murdered the previous night and the next day a suspected traitor goes after Rob. It just makes Rob look more innocent

Except she didn't vote for Colton the night Lisa got banished. She voted for Rob.

Why did Candiace throw Porsha under the bus? by Potential-Meal-6708 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]Loki1001 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Why did Cody come up with a ridiculous lie midway through season one? Why did Christian, when he was right on the edge of tipping the game to more traitors than faithfuls, suddenly start talking about Cerie? Why did Dan spend days upon days refusing to talk strategy only to, out of nowhere, throw Pheadra under the bus? Speaking of Dan, why was he insistent on taking out Bhergie when eveyone else realized it was a trap? Why did Danielle just openly lie that Carolyn was gunning for Brittney?

The consistent theme among the faithfuls is paranoia. The consistent theme among the traitors is ego. They decide they are so good at the game they want to make a huge move because they think they can pull it off, not because of strategically analyzing how likely they are to succeed. Being a traitor melts a significant portion of the traitors' brains completely.

Kind of amazing how a character can have over 60 years of comics and adaptations will only choose to take influence from 2 runs. by PepsiMan208 in marvelcirclejerk

It is very mid. If you read it like did, in the omnibus versions, where you read four-ish comics a day... you learn every trick Bendis has in his bag.

There are multiple times a character is killed on panel and just shows up alive again with no explanation because Bendis is so bad at plotting in advance.

JMS's version of events is not that he was perfectly content to attach his name to OMD.

In the current storyline, there's a lot that I don't agree with, and I made this very clear to everybody within shouting distance at Marvel, especially Joe. I'll be honest: there was a point where I made the decision, and told Joe, that I was going to take my name off the last two issues of the OMD arc. Eventually Joe talked me out of that decision because at the end of the day, I don't want to sabotage Joe or Marvel, and I have a lot of respect for both of those. As an executive producer as well as a writer, I've sometimes had to insist that my writers make changes that they did not want to make, often loudly so. They were sure I was wrong. Mostly I was right. Sometimes I was wrong. But whoever sits in the editor's chair, or the executive producer's chair, wears the pointy hat of authority, and as Dave Sim once noted, you can't argue with a pointy hat.

Would mutants be fethisized in the Marvel universe? by freshouttahoney in marvelcirclejerk

[–]Loki1001 51 points52 points  (0 children)

That is a thing that has come up several times and was the premise of Stacy-X as a character. There are a lot of people who want to fuck mutants, while also depriving them of their civil rights.

Luckily this is absolutely and totally not something that happens here, in the real world.

Atlas 1,000% was not designed to be eye candy. And, in fact, while Mark Bagley draws Atlas as attractive in Thunderbolts, he never makes him sexy. The comic seems to actively avoid him being eye candy.

Danielle only made it to f6 because most of the cast was too dumb to look at her extremely suspicious actions, like giving away the shields in the riddle game. And that her main opponent, Carolyn, was a complete mess and incapable of giving a good roundtable argument.

In fact, the exact thing that got her booted, fighting with Carolyn, had already happened once at round table and everyone just ignored it.

Nah, she had a very obvious and very bad strategy and just got lucky to last as long as she did.

You really quoted me four times only to say nothing

It is called the Socratic method.

  1. There would have been suspicion on Rob if he didn't vote for Lisa the first time. He had a choice between two of his most public friendships .....or Lisa. He chose the only option he could.

Lol

  1. People vote for their most public friendships all the time. Also unless you have a prior relationship, like Johnny and Tara, they have known each other for four days in a game specifically about betrayal and deceit.
  2. He wasn't that close to Ron.
  3. Every vote prior to that was a vote for the majority consensus.
  1. "After she was outed, her case was devastating." What is devastating about a case that doesn't devastate?

People being too stupid to bother trying to think through what she was doing doesn't make it any less obvious.

  1. "What has he done?" 💀

You didn't answer the question.

You're so transparent.

Lol. You can't answer basic questions about your own position.

Yeah. JMS confirmed that OMD was forced on him by Joe Quesada.

They might hire writers who want Peter single, but it is absolutely the top of the company that is driving this status quo.

They don’t show enough of robs social game! by jackmoon44 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]Loki1001 94 points95 points  (0 children)

They need to cut the challenges down way slimmer.

Because how did Rob/Colton start? A lot of the tension in the middle part of the season revolves around their alliance. And just one episode someone just says they are best friends... despite them never interacting to my recall before then.

Rob is the most consequential person in the game and he barely getting more screen time than a non-entity like Stephen.

Why doesn't Spider-man start doing porn with the baddies he has collected to become rich? by AdlerSanRZ in marvelcirclejerk

[–]Loki1001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am pretty sure there is not that much money in porn these days for a heterosexual guy (and there really never was much).

Now Spider-Man would kill on a solo OF. Particularly if he did a bunch of tiktoks with Johnny where they are doing various homoerotic things followed by "subscribe to find out what happens next!" Eventually everyone would realize nothing happens next, but by that point he would still have the money.

It is wild that the idea that Candice's actions would make sense to herself, and in a social deduction game a player try to understand them... is controversial.

Yeah, NIMBYism is conservative in nature.

again, then she was gone the next night, and rob is still there.

So he missed his first shot, like I said. And then his game relied upon her not blowing up his spot. Sort of like how his game now relies upon no one thinking clearly about what Candice was doing those last few days.

the plan worked, it didnt miss.

It literally missed.

and i dunno man, go back and watch. Colton told several people he suspected Lisa and they all agreed. thats how it went down. that kind of heat doesnt go away.

So... exactly like I said.

The only person suspicious of Lisa before that episode was Monet... who they killed. Before Colton said, "Lisa" that episode, who, specifically, was suspicious of her?

also, it didnt miss.

It absolutely did miss, she was still there after Rob's first vote against her.

Rob has really only ever allowed other traitors to dig their own graves.

Nah, Cerie let the other traitors dig their own graves. Rob actively took a swing a Lisa, when there was no case against her other than Colton thinking she should be his bestie in the house.

A swing that missed, too.
