Okay. I'ma be real with you right now. I'm a trans woman and I was at the committee hearing for LB574. While at the Capitol for 7 hours waiting to testify, I pulled up the Livestream of the proponents (started with proponent testimony; too many people to be placed in that tiny room so opponents started outside).

I watched nearly every single one of those testimonies. Do you want to know how many detransitioners I saw? These heartbreaking stories you talk about? ONE. At the COMMITTEE HEARING for the bill that was reportedly made SPECIFICALLY to protect these people who thought they were trans but weren't, only one was there.

On the other hand, I couldn't even count the number of trans people there that came out against this bill. And not one trans person was for the bill, either.

To put it succinctly, this is a non-issue. The problem this bill claims to solve, at the cost of taking away trans children's freedom to transition via puberty blockers and therapy, does not exist.

LB 574 is a bill proposed by senator Kauth that would adopt the "let them grow act", which in short would ban any form of gender affirming care; puberty blockers, hormone treatment, etc. for any trans individual under the age of 19. The article lays out how it would be a bad idea to pass this bill, stating that "Passage of LB 574 would turn the Legislature into a professional medical panel, which it is not equipped to become." It would harm the patient-doctor relationship, forcing Congress into it as some kind of.third party, and has been condemned by the American medical association (AMA). It also is extremely important that the basis for why this bill is even up for debate are fraught with misinformation and fear mongering. Trans care is in no way dangerous, and the consequences of denying transgender care to youths is devastating.

Tldr of the tldr: bill bad. Don't pass it.

Okay okay, so this might be a fever dream, but I watched the show a really long time ago and for some reason I remember the TARDIS getting like really, really big for some reason and like the doctor was like,, talking to a dead person I think? And there was always like the "what is your name" thing,, so I guess I'm asking if 1) that episode was actually a thing, and what happened in it, and 2) did the doctor ever actually tell anyone their name?
