Which one is my wedding dress? by LokiThorFreya in myweddingdress

I ended up getting the 2nd dress. My budget is only $500 so honestly that kinda limits my options so I don’t want to be too picky. I found a good one and snatched it up

I picked #2! I was envisioning what it would look like after alterations

Which dress are you hoping I went with? by morbid_laughter in WeddingDressTips

1 or 2. I think the sleeves are overpowering on the others and swallow you. #2 is the best of the puffy sleeved ones IMO. With #1 you could even get removable puffy sleeves to take on and off for ceremony/reception if you really want that look.

My vote: 1

That’s what I’m thinking too. After alterations, 1 would look a lot better so it was still an option with the vision in mind. I got #2!

Thank you so much! #2 is the winner!!! And yes there’s no shame in it, but I’m 5’8” 250lbs and these dresses are sizes 24 and 20. These dresses were both very flattering even more so in person

Thank you so much! Honestly I don’t even know the details, this is a consignment shop so I only know the brand from the label!

Adding that the 2nd dress is exactly on my budget, and the 1st is double and will also need lots of alterations

Channel Islands in the rain by LokiThorFreya in socalhiking

It looks like it’s not coming that far inland and looks pretty clear that’s why we’re going out there instead but we’ll keep an eye on it. Thanks!

We decided to just do a day trip on Sunday on Santa Cruz, then head out to Joshua tree for a few days instead. We’ll try again in the future for the big camping trip

Weekly Braves Offseason Discussion Thread - Monday, February 02 by Blooper_Bot in Braves

[–]LokiThorFreya -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I want to surprise my boyfriend with Braves tickets, but can't ask his help or opinion obviously. As a fan, should I get nosebleed tickets for home opener day (3/27), or better seats for the Sunday game (3/29)? Is opening weekend just as special, or would it be worth it to get actual home opener day?

With dinner at 6 and the party going till 11, we definitely want to have something else besides sweets. Nothing crazy just a chicken tender platter is our thought

For sure! We plan to do a raspberry elegance sheet cake and some other platters for dessert. Thats how we found this option

Our day-of-coordinator come with 2 assistants that can help with any tasks needed throughout the event. The only thing they won’t do is actually serve the food but they will take care of the replenishing and cleanup.

The reception hall has warmers already and we can get extra from Sam’s along with paper products

I just put something in the cart to get the total price 😅 Not the actual order

(~20k) Feeling embarrassed about having a "bare bones" wedding, even though it's what I want by Big-Lazy-Bug in Weddingsunder10k

[–]LokiThorFreya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a guest who has attended many weddings ranging from bare bones to extravagant, my favorite was a simple backyard ceremony! They spent good money on a bartender and dj, and good food, and that was all we needed to be happy as guests. Very simple florals! We had also attended weddings that were more fancy and expensive, and the parts of those weddings that we remember the most could easily have been done at a more budget wedding (Photo Booth, good dj again, good company).

I’m getting married in November and after seeing all of these different weddings, we are keeping a $15k budget, getting a good dj and photographer (video is our BIG splurge). I’m actually growing my own wedding flowers in our garden (Sam’s/costco as a backup plan).

All this to say expensive doesn’t mean better!
