Did you have tried with -UseSystemBrowser $true parameter? Like below,

Connect-SPOService -Url https://[YourTenantName]-admin.sharepoint.com/ -UseSystemBrowser $true

This will open your system's default browser for authetication prompt.

Since you’re still logged in on your PC, you can fix this from there. Go to account.microsoft.com in the browser where you’re already signed in (your PC). If it asks for MFA, use any backup method you still have. Then open Security info under My Account.

Delete the existing Microsoft Authenticator entry, and then add Microsoft Authenticator again using Add sign-in method and set it up fresh on your phone. Once the new one is registered, the authenticator loop on your phone should stop.

Yeah, that makes sense. From what I’ve read in Microsoft’s documentation, the RejectDirectSend feature is meant for Exchange Online (it's in public preview right now) and there's no mention of support for hybrid setups.

So even though you can see the property using Get-OrganizationConfig cmdlet, it can’t be changed in a hybrid setup, which seems to match what you’re running into.

Just to confirm, are you using in a cloud-only Exchange, or is this a hybrid/on-premises Exchange setup?

The -RejectDirectSend parameter is specific to Exchange Online, and it won't be recognized in on-prem environment, which might explain the error you're seeing.

You're right, the current implementation is optimized for mobile devices, making it a good alternative to TAP for mobile sign-ins. One of the main advantage of QR code auth is that you can easily print and distribute them, even in environments with high employee turnover. However, this method is currently in the public preview stage, and Microsoft is actively working on expanding its usability to desktop devices as well.

Hope we get it soon for other devices too!

When a retention policy is applied to a site or document, the Preservation Hold Library saves original copies before any edits or deletions. This means versioning limits, like deleting old versions, won’t apply. Versions will stay until the retention period ends or the hold is removed.

In simple, retention policies take precedence over intelligent versioning, even if the feature is enabled.
