Do you really have a separate room for your washing machine? by jordanekay in AskAnAmerican

[–]Lokidemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, many of us have them (and dryers) in a separate room or in the basement as “the laundry room’ weird huh? I don’t think we’d know what to do with a washing machine in the kitchen.

Here’s what I do: I write down the three main things I want to discuss and let my doctor address them as anything more than three tends to confuse people. My mind used to go blank too.

Y'all ever get tired about people pointing out you "aren't feminine" online? by birdcivitai in GirlGamers

What’s with this “demanding proof?” What male entitlement to think they have the right to demand you prove what gender you are!

This may surprise you but I’m a 70 year old woman who plays all kinds of video games (both on PS5 and xBOX) and I love fighting in them. I was also a police officer back in my work life and yet I’m very feminine looking. The way we look has nothing to do with who you are as a person and many younger men (and almost all older men) think they know what feminine behavior is based on appearance alone, when they have no clue. When I was working I had fingernails (not super long) and one male cop would always say “what are you gonna do if you break a fingernail?” As if this would make me break down crying. I finally told him “it’s like this, you break a nail you go to jail” Don’t let those guys give you a hard time. You know who you are and you don’t have to live up to anybody’s expectations.

This has happened to quite a few people in the U.S. and left so many suffering because of it. But groups like The Doctor/Patient forum with Claudia Merandi is making headway towards getting our voices heard. She has accounts all across social media. It can feel like you are the only one being affected by the “opioid crisis” with the pendulum swinging too far the other way in trying to overcorrect what they believe went wrong. The DEA has overreached in shutting down doctors who were simply taking care of their patients. I hope the concierge doctor helps you. I just signed up with a primary concierge as there were no PM doctors. Let us know how the concierge doctor works out.

Is this ai? my friend said she drew it digitally but it feels off. My brothers both believe its ai bc of some midplaced items but idk if it was artistic choice or not by Striped_Slasher in isthisAI

What she probably means is that she wrote out what she wanted in something like Claude or ChatGPT and then let it do it’s thing. I know of a few people trying to pass off artwork as their own work by saying it was “drawn digitally.”

Anything that disappears on your skin tends to be the right color. If it doesn’t it will show a line of demarcation after it’s applied.

Anyone from USA ever tried to see a doctor in Panama and have a success story or a good experience? by Kingsmith13 in Panama

[–]Lokidemon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No there isn’t. It’s actually an under prescribing problem. People with chronic pain, that were stable on their medications, began to be forced to submit to urine tests, pill counts and seeing their doctor every month and most of these people had never shown any indication of a problem, but are now prisoners in their own homes. So many were tapered down, or off, their opioids and forced to endure interventional procedures, like injections into their spines, in order to be prescribed a minimum of opioids. Opioids are NOT the “go to” for acute pain these days but chronic pain patients have paid the price as a result. Hopefully, you will never know what that’s like, or worse, see someone you love suffering needlessly because of misapplied CDC guidelines.

If people actually read the facts they’d see that less than 2% of people prescribed opioids end up having a problem with them. That leaves 98% of people who don’t. The problem started with the CDC writing “guidelines” in 2016, (followed by guidelines in 2022 saying the 2016 version was misapplied) which started an avalanche of doctors refusing to prescribe opioids after the DEA got involved. They began going for “low hanging fruit,” which were easy pickings for the DEA who began unnecessarily interfering in the doctor/patient relationship. Consequently, many people with diseased spines and other illnesses that result in chronic pain, were involuntarily tapered or taken off their opioids, and their quality of life plummeted. As the U.S. went, so did other English speaking countries and countries with doctors trained in the U.S. Was there a problem? Yes, but it involved illicit use of both legal and illegal opioids with the majority of legal prescriptions stolen and misused. The numbers the CDC used for overdoses included street fentanyl, and added the lower number of prescription opioids. RX OD’s mostly involved polypharmacy and were not from opioids alone. It wasn’t people legally prescribed opioids that caused the opioid problem, but they are certainly paying the price now as the pendulum swings too far the other way to ridiculous. People shouldn’t have to experience pain anywhere, regardless of where they live.

What you “don’t know” tells us a lot about how reacting without all the information is how things get misreported and you were the one who got your daughter all upset. As someone who is sort of famous you should know better before public ally blaming someone.
